Subject: Some feedback for you.

Hi!

I'm Alyssa's cousin. My name is B.B. You can ask her.

I've visited your website. Not bad for a beginner (she said your took up the course especially for this). Anyway just want to say that the most of the pictures are quite dark and some even have colours camourflage (not sure about the spelling) with the background.

Hope that you can adjust the picture brighter and set the background contrast to the items. Some of the items shown is quite far that I could not see it clearly. I hope that you are not angry with my feedback and you will consider my suggestion.

By the way, congratulation on the launching of your website and hope that this business will expand soon.

 Regards, B.B

Hi B.B,

Thanks for your valuable feedback. The brightness/contrast of the pictures are correctly set when the pictures were taken at the time (Outdoor Shoot).  For your info, feedback received from my colleagues have been positive.  There was no mention of imbalance picture contrast.  I did a couple of checks on public computers (Sengkang library) and found that the LCD laptop displayed sub-par colour contrast (defective hardware).

While on the other hand, the CRT desktop PC at Tampines library displayed a bright colour contrast.  Having said
that, I conclude that it could be due to either your display monitor settings or video card problems. When the pictures were taken, the decors were set for interesting and vibrant display, hence the colourful mix.  In some pictures, the contrast level was sacrificed for optimum appeal.  However, it would be helpful if you could specify the pictures that you find unsatisfactory, I will do my utmost to rectify them to a satisfactory level.  The pictures displayed at site are of thumbnail sizes with the exception of the mannequin display.  For a view of bigger picture, please click onto the picture itself.

Once again, we thank you for your feedback.  Your comments will be published at the site.  Feel free to drop me a line again if there are any comments regarding the site. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you good health and many good years ahead.

Regards,
Randy Wong

                                 Agate Stone

A stone of good fortune, health and long life. Said to attract the love of others, increase courage, intelligence, strength and modesty and to benefit the heart.

Rose Quartz : The Colour of Love

Rose quartz is used as an ornamental stone and as a gemstone.  Rose quartz is also a very attractive ornamental stone and is carved into popular spheres, pyramids, obelisks, figurines and ornate statues.  Historically, it is a symbol of love and beauty.   The name quartz comes from the Saxon word querklufterz, which meant cross vein ore. The astrological signs of rose quartz are Taurus and Libra.

There are certain stones, which I feel belong in every crystal collection. These include clear quartz, amethyst, and rose quartz.

Clear quartz is a foundation stone; like the color white, it contains the full spectrum of color. Amethyst is a color, which many people consider to be that of spirit. Rose quartz helps to give us the gift (and those of you who celebrate Christmas will not find a better one beneath your tree) of loving ourselves

Self-love is important for everyone, but it is especially vital for people who are interested in spiritual development. Many spiritual disciplines advocate the abandonment of self (known as ego), and while this may be ultimately the greatest liberation, I've often noticed people trying to abandon self with the enthusiasm with which they'd dump a particularly odorous bag of garbage.

Any negative feeling is a kind of psychic glue, which attaches us to that about which we feel negative with ourselves. When we don't love ourselves fully we are wounded inside, and a wound will always cry out to be healed. Rose quartz is an instrument of that healing. That doesn't mean that it's always a gentle stone. In the past, when I placed it on my heart center (its natural resting place) I could feel pain I hadn't known I had rising to the surface. If this happens to you, you have a number of choices.

You can stop using it for a while, replacing it with aventurine, which can help to gently rebalance emotions. You can hold a rose quartz in your hand, and, while holding it, silently or out loud repeat an affirmation ("The past is over; I am a stronger person now." "I accept all that I Am.").You can also stick with it, frequently reminding yourself that that the pain is coming up to be released. It's going, never to return.

You can also sleep with rose quartz beneath your pillow. The pain of the past may come up in dreams; you can more readily handle this if you affirm before you go to sleep that you are ready to release the past.

Enjoy and respect your rose quartz. It's one of nature's greatest gifts.  Rose quartz pendant can be incorporated with swarovski crystals, which gives it an overall feel of elegant, class and attractiveness.

Dzi Bead : Mystical, Healing

Dzi bead (pronounce zee) is a mystical, rare and precious stone.  The colours of Dzi bead can generally be categorized into dark and light brown, with symbols comprised of circles, ovals, square, waves stripes, lines and various other symbolic patterns.  Dzi bead contains elements of jade and agate, belonging to the nine-eyed cavenous rocks.  This precious stone's  place of origin includes western Tibet, eastern Tibet, Bhutan, Sikkim , ladakh and certain regions in the Himalayas.

Dzi beads possess nature's cosmic magnetic energy.  According to a scientific study, Japanese researchers discovered that Dzi beads contain 14 elements from Mars.  The hardness of Dzi is 7 to 8.5 on the Moh's hardness index, slightly below the African diamond. which has an index of 10.  Crystal's magnetic wave is 4 volts whereas Tibetan's Dzi bead gives off 13 volts, 3 times more than crystal.  The magnetic energy emitted by Dzi bead is very gentle and is suitable to be placed at any human parts.  It is perceived to be able to regulate blood circulation and reduce illness.  The magnetic energy from the Dzi can regulate the body's blood and 'qi' circulation, balancing the body's yin yang and five elements, improves the body's immunity system and henceforth, achieve overall improvement in one's health.

Some Dzi researchers regard the inner colour of the Dzi's string hole as an important criterion for judging the quality of the Dzi.  Milky white colour is more superior in quality, and thus more precious.  The designs of Dzi bead include: dotted, lines, squarish, circular, triangular, rhombus, polygonal, seed shape, irregular shapes, animal motifs, abstract motifs and symbol combinations.  Different designs represent different meanings and function.  The Dzi's value is very much dependent on the uniqueness of the lustre and designs.

Valuations of Dzi beads are determined by age, scarcity, number of the eyes (odd-numbered, eight-eyed and twelve-eyed Dzis are more expensive)., degree of chippings, cinnabar dots (will grow from inner to the surface with age) and special designs like Buddha's eye, Heaven-and Earth motiff, Dorje design, lotus and Bottle Motif, and unique patterns to determine the price.

Note: 1 Unfortunately RU (ruby) is not produced in a wide selection of bead shapes and sizes. I would prefer ruby, except that there are too few choices of ruby in the Swarovski stock list.

Note: 2
The natural birthstones for December are Turquoise and Zircon. Swarovski does not produce ZI in the round beads as a stock item. I suggest that you substitute ER (erinite) or IND (indicolite) for the ZI (zircon). ER is somewhat bluer and more pale (more like turquoise), while IND is quite close.

Computer Misuse Act

To deal with new potential abuses of computer systems, the Computer Misuse (Amendment) Bill 1998 was introduced in Parliament on 1 June 1998. It was passed on 29 June 1998 and came into force on 1 August 1998. The amended Act takes a more sophisticated approach to provide for enhanced penalties proportionate to the different levels of potential and actual harm caused. It also addresses new potential computer abuses such as denial or interruption of computer services and unauthorised disclosure of access codes.

The full text of the Computer Misuse Act (Cap 63) can be found at the Singapore Statutes Online Web site.
