IN GOOD COMPANY(2004) A working husband(dennis quaid) is dismayed that’s his new boss(topher grace) is younger,and tqaiud is being demoted in his field. C0-star scarlet johannsen. Great performace ny qaiud,while Johanssen and grace performances lacking a streneth performance, that’s is desired. Grace performance, does not outshine that 70’s star ashton krutcher films, but grace provides some interesting qualities,that are fall short. Hannson performance is average at best, more better then Graces,by many legeths., but her performance is one to note, her appeal is alluring,but not much for to go on,giving the script layout for her character. Quaid outshines the cast is a very riper perfoprmance,lending incredible streneth and inderance to a father who don’t not like a new guy taking over and exerts himself when daughter johannsen is seemly dating Grace. Heis pwerformance is strong,and capitavating, a winning performance that I havwe not seen quaid in a long time, reach. In good compaNY WAS ALMOST A LETDOWN, it was very boring in parts and dragged a little bit, but is was an interesting film, and so I rated it above average. The script could have been improved, with more indepth characters,then what is finalized in here, but not bad, but was disappointed in how some parts dragged instead of havinh a more heavy handed feeling that was need to the central characters,and graces character needed that, then a mere basic of what we see in here. More structure is need for this,as it is, I define it, is something to consider, but seeinmg how l;etdown I was hoping that was motre indepth backstory to trthe central character,there was more the script could have needed, but ethier is was not need or felt it was not needed, anyhow. Take it as it is, in good company,leaves more to be desired thenn what I gained from watching it.** 1/2

DARKNESS FALLS(2003) Staying in the light can be a remarkable idea, and that idea works pretty well, in this hooror film quite pleasantly. In the dark it can be a dangerous path. Based on a story by joe harris, who short film was inspired for the feature film, tells the story of a woman, named miltida who was excused of taking two children, and was unjustly hanged to death. The children however, appeared, and thus begins the story of darkness falls. Before being hunged, she cursed the town that anybody who loses a tooth, and peeks at her, will die. Quite scary for kids who loose their teeth, but if you don’t look at her, you’ll be fine, if so, you’re a goner. The film flashes forward to twelve years later and we see the young kid, who mother was killed by miltida, because she didn’t stay in the light. The townsfolk, think he killed his mother, and was locked away in an instuatioun for years. He gets releases and travels back to the town where it all started, and where the story of the tooth fairy has become lengend.this time, it is kyle’s girlfriend(emma caulfielf of buffy the vampire slayer tv seris) brother, who is plagued with sleep deprivation, and afraid of the night terror, the same kyle faced when he lost his tooth. Now, it up to kyle to try to save his girlfriend’s brother and finally face up to his fear of the scary proclien masked women, named Miltida dixson, apply titled the tooth fairy for good.** 1/2
DESPERMATE MEASURES(1997) What can I say about Michael keaton? He’s a very good performer, a actor who knows how to take a role and twist it to make it funny, like in multiplicity, heroric, the first two batman films, and of course sinister like in pacific heights. Clearly put, keaton knows his way around quite well, and in desperate measure, we seems as a prisoner locked in a cell. Measures,is a deep role for keaton, and a deep rooted thriller, as keaton plays, peter McCabe, a fellon, who fit’s the description ,because he applied to be a bone morrow donor, and a father(andy Garcia) tries to seek the approval of keaton, to help his son , because his son is dying of leukemia and needs a rransplant. In a all to real scenerio, do you really think listening to a prisoners demands is going to work. The chase begins when keaton is transferred to the operation room, to abtract borrow marrow, only things don’t go as well as planned, and keaton flees ,not only endangering himself, but others around him, andas it is in these life and death situation, there is borrowed time at strake here, and Garcia’s son needs it or he’ll die. It is nice to see keaton, in a evil wicked role again, he plays the part serious, and quite funny at times, but it all adds to his performance. It is well conceived and exacuted. Garcia is good, in another cop sort of role, as the determined father who seeks to track keaton, and brings him back to the hospital unharmed, possibly. His performance is good, and is very earnest and real, compassionate,and natural all the way. Desperate measures is a thrill ride, a serious enertaing picture, not the best, but is worthy of some good entertainet for a few hours.** 1/2 stars
Ghost Ship(2002) As intertaing filmgoers with the dismal remake of thirteen ghost, film director steve beck, creates another chiller, that proves more creepier and more improved then thirteen ghosts. It takes a interesting plot of a ocean liner, and provides a mysterious yet, surreal background of the story. it’s a battle between good and evil, you might say, because the premise of ghost ship, is very simple. The film opens in 1962, although no date is describe to this particular year however, it seems to appear in outdated photographs of the time. A bunch of cruise ship people are enjoying their time dancing above the deck, when suddenly a tragic evident curtails their lives, thus sealing their fate, and dooming the ship at sea for several years. We then switch to the present day, which I guess, is 2002. I always go by the current date the film was released when referinmg to films that deal with present day activities. As a group of salvage researchers recuieves word from a blonde man that that must be something to be had at a mysterious locating in the bering sea. Fasinated by it all, the team set out on the journey, and discover the missing ship, named thegraza. It is here that strange things happen as a woman researcher sees a little girl, the food turns to invested maggots, and a beautiful woman seduces a black man, who will be getting married, and the big time drinker of the captain,seems to painful realize weird things while drowing his troubles with liqiour. Ghost ship is a very good premise, while critics have compared it not being that great, or worthy yo see, I disagree. Uit has some good special elements, and a premise that it to believable, and overly as it is it is not too enriched in satanic reason as some hooror films trend to be,which make less appealing to me. There is very little occult things that are devulaged, as the main point of this film belongs to the passing occupants of the doomed ocean liner. What what it is and was, ghost ship is a thoughtful attempt, at making a good horror film, as of late, that secedes remarkably well. Its tough in this day and age,because horror films today don’t have the same spark as they once did, and every now and then it surprises one a refreshing films is worth your time and effort. Ghost ship attempts to do a lot of things thoughtfully,creatively and doneright scary . Although it lacks some scare eleme3nts along the way, the chill factor is still there, leaving behind that yes, regarding the past of the passangers and the ship, ghost ship is an interesting deep rooted thriller in all sense of the word. Providing thrills and chills is the films point, and I say, it a very enjoyable premised plot and a very entertaing good film..*** stars
Rip it off(2003) Sort of likable film, has three women robs a casino. Interesting indie film which attempt to do justice, but I found it to be not that great. All though provides it stars Jennifer Esposito, natash kinninski, and alyson hannigan(buffy the vampire slayer tv show, american pie movies) it doesent seems to go off the ground. It seems the scriptwriting lacked anything witty ir imagitive in the process resulting in a average film. The pptential for this film was there, but however, not cleverly thoughtout well. There is hardly anything we feel for the characters, and we don’t seem to give a care of how they plan tp rob a casino, when they actually get around to it. The heist could have been better, thoughtout and plot more, what is is a diastter attempt and some loss of lifes. The premise of rip it off, is about getting payback on their boyfriends, who in all likelihood end up dead,except foe esptiops characters hisband(steve harris) who does not seems to having a lasting relastionshiop with. Rip it off is an average film with some good talent, but is wasted on low plot ,and simple boring diaglouge, however, hoping it might get better,but albeit not by much plot wise. There are some stand-out performances by Esposito and hannigan who try their best with a mediocre script and film . Orginal titled was beyond the city limits but was changed when released in the united states. ** stars
ANGEL: COMPLETE FIRST SEASON(2003)Angel got his start in 1997 as a vampire love interest to buffy summers(sarah michelle gellar) in the television show, buffy the vampire slayer. He soon departed buffy during season three to head fo L.A. This is that story, of how the vampire with a soul, adjust to the bright lights of the city, as he heads a detective agency, called angel investigations. The first seasom introduces some old characters that got teir start on buffy. Here we, have cordila( charisma carpener, joing david borleanz character, angel, along with a half demon /half human named doyle( played by glenn quinn. Quinn would lay pass away in December of 2002 of an apparent oberdose. It seems, his presence on angel is quite good, even if the writers of the show did not for his character. Huis character meets a sadly end. Nmaking their appearances in season one of angel from buffy, is eliza dusku, as faith, the rebel vampire slayer who comes to wreak havoc in .l.a., gellar as buffy, , and alixis densiof as Wesley, the former watcher but now rogue vampire hunter. The seris of angel is dark, mysterious, and gothic, since most of it takes place at night, and some daylight scenes., much to the confines of buffy, there is very little humor, maybe because is more of dark, serious view for adults the buffy is. Though apparent, both angel and buffy are very regarded among buffy fans. If you first view angel, you wont wont be familiar with the characters. If you are a faithful fan of buffy, you will follows along with the characters and its frequent appearances by buffy cast members. Although the feature appearance of dushku, abnd gekllar are nice, they are not necessarily the main point. This is angel show, so don’t expect angel and buffy, but just angel alone in los angeles. Fans have said that if you view season 1 of angel with watch simitouseously with buffy season 4, there is crossover of episodes that corresponsde with each. Interesting, is all I can say. However, angel proves interesting challenge, not bad for its first adventure and the first season. Angel seems to do a lot of good, or what he can in California.*** stars

CARRIE(2002) Hollywood has taken great steps to re-make, a plethora of films, over the years. Seemly they are at wits ends with anything orginal, that they have to remake classic films again, or remake films, for a new geration of youg audiences. Some times it can work, and at others, it’s a miss. Ethier way, if it any broken why fix it to retool it for hip audiences today. One can contribute a whole lot to this idea, they have remade many great movies, notably, like a star is born with judy garland, and babara steissand, and numerous variation on Shakespeare’s romeo and juliet story, to name a few, but they are thousands of others to add to that batch. First, is this remake of the 1978 brain de palma film about a strange outcast teenager who mother is just bizarre, with her over the top relious fixations,and his being picked on by her classmates that she decides to wreak havoc on her peers at the school prom. Now the 1978 with sissay spesk was just excellent, with a few turns,and twist, in this remake we get the feeling of a modern up to date story with bitchy stuck up girls, and a teenagers who mother is still nutty and should be in a mental ward.Now,as Hollywood outdid itself with over the top remakes. Yes, does the remake of carrie any good. Not bad, but not over the top as depalma film that dealt with the same idea, in here is more modern, but there some slight variation that differ from the 1978 film of the same name. Now, I never read the book by stephen king, but there are things that are diffirent, with a wole diffirent ending added to this remake. In the first film carrie has a showndown with her mother, and they end up a blaze, in this remake they ignore that, entirely as use a drowning premise and a ending, that scream out, what?, possiblt so they can make another direct to re-make sequel tv movie. The remake of carrie isn’t bad, nor it is good, it does provide some interesting things that flesh it out more,making this a three hour event when shown on broadcast television.but the simpler premise of revenge is still pivotal to the story. Lately, king has remade many of his films by other directors, ethier because they compromised hos version or hacked them up to what the directors transcending his films to the screen to look like.even though they have remade his films, lately, with other director directing his vision, I wonder if he is happier with the remake then the previous version of his films. Ethier he likes to wreak or prove on his work, is beyond me, further more, I think he should just sticki to write the book, rather then retooling his visions of books,if that’s the case, maybe he should give up writing foir a while and re-direct his films as he sees fits to do so, mabe we should see scores of films like,It,needful things,silver bullet to be retooled for his vision to be remembered.ethier way, I for one don’t mind seeing remakes of films,but in all likelihood leave it alone in the decade it was made, and not rework it decades later for a diffirent audience. FEARDOTCOM(2002) Since director William malone directed 1999’s house on haunted hill, the remake to the 1958 classic that starred Vincent price. It seems as though malone has done himself good at directing. His latest venture into the horror realm, is fear dot com, a bizarre trip through the land od dreams, torture, and above all the act of fear itself. Yes, fear dot com uses a very good approach to the topic that everyone faces, one time or another, the acting of being afraid. Director sees that as a possible entity into the horroe genre that he uses it well to an advatage that somehow is appealing, and yet intriguing all the same. The film tells the story of an evil pycho,named alistar(stephen rea, of the crying game) as a man who operates a website, and offers viewers the change to experience death, as he tortures victims. However, as it may seem, this is not fun and games, as each member that logs on to this mysterious, yet tirturesous sites, dies within 48 hours? Is this a strange occurance? And how come just by visiting a web site,you can die? The story unravels with surprising results, as a police man(stephen dorf) tries to seek out the mystery of the mysterious women who graces the website, and has a plan of death with anyone who visit’s the site within the 48 hours time given. Here, we ponder what does this blond haired beauty want> is this a porno site or what? What he are giving is this, and this is the basis of the story,. The evil doctor(rea) has killed and toputue this women, and somehow is trying to get even with her killer. Now, this is all good, but when we get down to the point, is is a simple, yet nerving idea to collide with. Some of the gimmicks in this film,work, while others seem to boader on unrealistic ability. It seems as though therevenage beauty is more or less during the final climax of the film, is computer generate, and after we finally see the shown down bettwn killer and victim, there is some few questions left to wonder, if this site is so dangerous, how come it is not reported in other states or countries, what is the fear that we see of the doctor. Does he have a fear at all, or his his greatest fear, the fear oif blonde victim he tortured? Is there a logical,ethical point to all this? Probably not, because the scripwriter or the director for that matter, seem to care in the slightest. Director malone has brought an interesting story, here he uses some good angles, with computer generated imaginary, and come to think of it, his previous venture, house on haunted hill dealy with a computer generated entity. However, it may seem, fear dot com, lacks a lotof the basic element that made house more interesting. It had good perforamance, and a more basic plot, here fear dot com, has a conjolted premise with video generating, that somehow I liked, that it is to say, some other viewers found this film to be unappealing.but on the basis of my review, I really enjoyed the dark tone, and feel of the film. Yes, it may be a kick back from house on haunted hill, but it sure feels a worthy m,atch to behold.*** stars

JOY RIDE(2001) two brothers(paul walker,steve zahn) are travelinh homebound, when they decide to play a prank with a trucker on a CB, with the handle name, of rusty nail.good scares, and comedy, mixed in with deep suspense. dvd contains four alternate endings, and three commentaries including actors, steve zahn, and leelee sobieski who plays venna, the so-called girlfriend of Walker. Ted levine(the mangler) provides the chillin voice of the trucker. 3 1/2 stars
40 DAYS 40 NIGHTS(2002) a young adult(josh harnett) agrees to refrain himself from any sexual activity for 4o days. good performace by harnett. directed by michael lehmann(heathers) 3 stars.
SERENDIPITY(2001) A interesting story of fate, as two people(john cusak,kate beckeinsale) meets at a blommingdales department store, over a pair of black gloves. they agree that if it dinstine to be they will meet again., he writes his name on a five dollar bill, and she in a copy of a book. they then get rid of it, and if it circles back to them by chance, it is fate that they are meant to be. good romantic comedy. good performace by bechinsale and cusak. 3 stars
COLLTERAL DAMAGE(2002) after a terrorist bomb kills his family, a firefighter(arnold schgwartzenegger) seeks out the killer responsible for the explosion. some good action sequences, but it goes to show you that schwartzeneggers carrear is heading downward. i thought true lies was much better. film was delayed for four months due to the sept 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the u.s.a. 2 1/2 stars.

DO YOU WAANA KNOW A SECRET?(2000) a group of coeds plan a vaction, only to have it shattered by a killer picking them off. o.k. script, but leaves more to be desired. even since scream was released, we seem to see teen film made more, strikely this one,lacks a modivation for the killer, and a not so goof finale. 2 stars

LARA CROFT:TOMB RAIDER(2001) ANGELINA JOLIE STARS AS THE HERIONE VIXEN IN THIS LIVE ACTION FILM, BASED ON THE COMPUTER GAME. plot is weak, but centters around two pieces of clock that alighned every 5 thousand years.,and has the abilty to change time.jon voight appears, but is a waste, because his character is jusrt a memory. loud, explosive, excessive action scenes are best, to make this film not a total failure. 2 stars

One as a killer,who preys on single mothers, on account of what happened to him in his childhood,and the other role, a genectic clone to track down his counterpart. Michael Rooker stars in this action flick. my rating. 2 1/2 stars

BRITNEY:THE VIDEOS(2001) I was a bit dissapointed in this release,becquse it is mislabeling entirely. the title refers to videos, but only contain a select few, a couple commericals, a interview, so i won't call it a video collection, it does not contain all britney videos. the length is a bit too short, only 30 mins, but it is still worth a viewing. videos include: overprotected, i'm a slave 4 u, don't let me be the last to know, las vegas commerical, pepsi commercial. my rating:***

Signs(2002) It seems that Hollywood in inclined to make more interesting stories about outerspace occurances,m and the dealings with alien being. what is it about alien film that generate alot of praise, we have. E.T., close encounters of the third kind, indenpendence day are a few alien blockbusters films that spring to mind when we enter into this catorgory genre. film director m. night's shalyman's signs in an interesting piiece of storytelling, that depspite the alien films before it, is qite absorbing and interesting. Whenb watching this film, I could not help but5 think of previous alien films, mostly notable is v: the ten hour miniseris(1983/1984)about being invaded by aliens who look like humans, but are not. in this latest adaption pof other life beings thery are alien in nature and our green.not surpspring, but fasicinating. the film tells the story of a former priest(mel gibson) and his childern notice stange occurances on thier farm. weird strange symbols appears in the crop fields.what are these strange occurances? and who made them? maybe techicnially speaking, maybe the symbols is to reperesent the devil, or some sort. however, the aswer resorts to aliens, trying to contact the world, or using it to invade the entire planet. the character played by gibson is interesting, we learn through a few flashbacks that his wife had died in an accident, she was going for a walk, and got pinned by a truck. these are interesting, but in some cases,not overall needed for half of the film. why he keeps having flashbacks, is beyond me, maybe it serves as a high standpoint later in the film.some of the things included in this scenes give an indication of victory that yet to come. I however, did enjoy m. night's film about strange occurances, it has suspense, and got along within the time that was allotted. however, as it may be, it is a good film with great substabnial effort in achieving the stange crop circles appearing in corn fields, that is amazling wonderful.*** stars
BACK TO THE FUTURE TRILOGY(1985/1989/1990)Ever since the induction of the Dvd format, filmgoers have been wanting popular titles to own on the five inch format,among the films.E.T.,GREASe,and now these films have made it to the format, which is quite brilliant. the disc themselves contain a boatload of extra ranging from making of, commentaries, and deleted scenes, mixed in with 3d desigh menus, and interesting tidbits of trivia.which makes this a worthy rental, and a likely product to own. the first disc, contains the first movie, that involves a teenager, named marty mcfly(michael j. fox) who travels back in time to see his parents as teenagers(played by lea thompson, crispin glover). the special extra features include, video commentary by actor, fox, deleted scenes, comentary with bob gale, neil canton, and robert zemeckis, as well as poster art, and a lot more. the second entry in the seris, back to the future part 2, focus on the futuristic events of 2015, as marty and doc( michael j. fox, christopher lyodd) tries to prepare the damage of the marty's childern in the future. exra include, deleted scenes, a music video for power of love,and more. and last, but not least, is the third entry in the seris, as doc is traped in the old west,after a lighting bolt struck the deloren he was riding in and transported him to the dusty dirty street of the old west of hill valley. this time, marty travels back to try to rescue his friend, but comes across a few enemies along the way. extras include, making of, still gallery, a total excess website feature for dvd-rom, a deleted death scene, and more.all in all, this is a fine set to enjoy ,and a great trilogy to watch in repeated viewings. for film ratings of these films, see the credit guide below.

bithday girl(2002) an england man(ben chaplin) recieves a russian bride(nicole kidman)and two russians who show up during the russians birthday and chos ensues.would have been a better film, but pointless and uneccsarry scenes makes this film a dissappointment. nice performance by kidman and chaplin though. 2 stars
Buffy:the Vampire slayer:season 1 and season 2(1997/1998) the first season of the tv show of buffy,deals with buffy(sarah michelle gellar) moving to sunnydale high school, and meets her new watcher( anthony stewart head)to rid the injustice of vampires in sunnydale, along with her new friends, xander(nichols bredon)cordilia(chrisma carpenter)willow( alyson hannigan). season 2 futhers the adventures of the chosen one as she battles more demons,and a relationshiop, with a mysterious man, named angel(david borleanz)season 1 contains 12 espidoses, with select commentarry, and still gallary, and more. seasin 2 features all 22 episodes of the second season, with commentary with creator, joss weadon, feaureetes.while not every episode is a favorite,each episode stands on its own merits. therfore, I rate the entire season as a whole, and not seperately. Spider-man(2002) good film adaption of the comic book hero(played by Tobey mcquire) and his alter ego persona, peter parker. good special effects, and a great cast in fine performances. the premise of the film tells the story of Parker(Mcquire).one day during a field trip of taking pictures of the girl he amires(kirsten Dunst),he is bitten by a spider, and develops stranges occurances.film has some good highlights with showing off the web shooter, but uses so much of c.g.i work that it ruins some of the film. of,course, it has some great sequences, like spiderman fighting the green goblin(willem dafoe)that it works. I enjoyed this movie,but not something to get over excited about,with the hype that this film recieved when in theaters. its a good film with a good premise, some elementslacking theof. like from what I observed, parker is sort of a weakling when it comes to fighting, without his keen sense of danger, and flying though air with his web slings, he is pretty much useless. however, some of the swinging with the web, gets boring, but enough to keep you entertained with its enticing plot.Dvd contains music videos, commentary by directer and cast, includind dunst, and a boatload of making of feaurettes.*** stars.
Phantasm:OBlivion(1998)fourth installent, and yet final part in the phantasm series. this time, mike(michael baldwin) is trying to escape the tall man(angus scrimm) and reggie( reggie bannister) fending for himself, and tries to find mike,while amid the tall man's tricks. good sequel,which uses unused footage from the first phantasm, to tell a little more about the tall man, and his quest for the world.*** stars
Don't say a word(2000)a pychatrist(michael douglas) daughter is kidnap, in exchange for a number that a patient holds.pretty good premise with douglas trying to unravel the number that is locked inside the girl(brittany murphy)'s head. famke jansen as an interesting role as douglas's wife.*** stars.
PHANTASM 2(1988) second entry in the sereis, as mike and reggie(james le gross, rreggie bannister) travel across country to find the tall man(angus scrimm)good premise, and some good special effects . the highlight is the return of the flying spheres, this time they are more advanced, and look super cool.*** STARS.
TomCATS(2001) a group pf friends make a bet, that who ever is not married wins the bet,some interesting ideas, but in a rude vain way.and troublesome ideas, as the main lead(jerry o'connell) lose a major amount of money at a casino, and must find some way to pay it back, what better way then the money that is placed on the bet. some of the ideas is pretty good, but however, is not overly great. although worth a watch, if you like rude, pointless, no brainer comedy films.** stars

Ginger Snaps(2001) mildly entertaining werewolf veihcle about to close sisters who are are bizarre,who our goth,and obsessed with death, plan to prank a classmate,who picks on Ginger's sister(Emily Perkins) only trouble ensues as Ginger is attacked by a werewolf, and her sister notices some very unatural going on after the wolf bite.Good premise, but kind of gets less appealing, towards the end. Nevertheless, a good story, but there are better horror films out there that deal with wearwolfs.The opening montage of this film is very disturbing,as it is very eleborate with gore. Ginger Snaps is a good story with quality acting, and a standard siZe plot. it nothing more then a horror picture, which is the best horror film I saw from the this year.Perkins, although lovely dones a fine job as the outcast goth sister, Bridgette. She appeared as Beth, a youth who is terrorized by an evil force in the 1990 Stephen King film, It(1990). ** 1/2

Candyman: day of the dead(1999) the movies of candyman are bizarre, yet, weird to say, in the least, a myth that is true. The premise of Candyman tells the story of an artist who was burned with bees,and encased in the afterlife to seek victims to send to Hell,When his name is repeated five times in a mirror.The first film was dark, gritty, and atmospheric, but the sequels are plotted with any reason for modivation, and a plot so dense, it is a wonder they keep making these movies. Atlas, while Tony Todd is the only actor to repeat his famous character, I find it a liitle tiresome that they have not done something refreshing, and unique with his character role. In what is a revenge, kill your friends premise, the third, but dissapointing sequel offers little presence of knowing the character,and why Candyman has to kill,when the orginal people that burned him, are, at least no longer living. Is it hard to imagine that after time and time again, this hooked wilding fiend, might do better in a I Know What You Did Last Summer flick, helping ben Willis, the local fisherman offing of the local teens that left him for dead? Well, to say that, it is almost honorable, but on the basis of the Candyman premise, It would leave more to be desired. however, in this trite sequel, we center around a last descendant,a woman who does not believe the legend surrounding the painter, her grandfather or uncle, it is a little confusing. So she repeats his name five times in the mirror, and then while walking home, the colored man appears telling her, "to believe". it takes many attempts to convince the decentant of Candyman, that this is no dream, but a flashback montage of perdictments that actually outline that yes, Candyman is really murdering people around her. The plot of candyman: is a simple, yet confusing one. at one point in the film, we see her taken to a shrine of people who worship the famous man, and what to be like him. at this point do we care. maybe. but they really dont know candyman, He dosen't need buddies to join him, he does it all solo. so what happens when he appears, to reveal himself. probaly an idea that should have been rethought a couple more times, because ourbadass villian doesn't play well with the other childern! there is really not much to devulge here. it is a twisted yet, somewhat entertaing film,and at times the paceing is slow, and other were boring , but it does have a few interesting insights, like the police who does not believe you, and the twisted flashbacks of her mother,and the worship followers of candyman. I liked those scenes a little, but however it is candyman can be a mix bag of ideasm plot, and a descent charm of talent. the only person that does that is Tony Todd, who comes across as a very convincing death seeker,ala the grim reaper sort of way.Todds performance is pertically, stunnung, smooth, and sauve. he glides with ease. but on another note, although he co- ex's the Candyman films, and takes part in them, how much more can we stand the legend, and the endless ways for hims to off his victims. countless questions that probably will never end.* star

Waters shows no boundries, to his craft. One of Waters finer movies in a long time.some people might call this crazy John Waters, but this is what you except from this film making wonder, an over the top demented, rauch film. Those looking for watered down john waters films, are best to stick with his pg and pg-13 material.*** stars
