 BRIAN-ALIKES ARE GO!
Early Punk/Garage Bands

Here's a roundup of most of the bands Jon mentions in the Golden Age of Brian-alikes article. These bands generally only had one hit at best, and often that hit is a cult classic only known by rock critics today. The Stones, the Yardbirds, the Kinks and the Who seem to have been the proto-punks main influences. Some bands like the Kingsmen and the Leaves weren't actually blessed with Brian-alikes, but I included them anyway for comparison.
