Finally, the long-awaited debut of Priapism on October 31st, Halloween night! We placed an ad and found a singer, who looks a hell of a lot like the guy from Eve 6, named Jeremy. This dude kicks ass, has the range of a maniac and an evil scream. He prefers the more melodic (I call it whining) side of vocals, and aims for a more dreamy, sick feel. When we met him, we trashed all our old songs, two years of hard work, to start from scratch, and create a kick ass band. We are tending toward the really hard melodic genre, of which there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of bands as of yet. We are thouroughly excited to finally air out the finished product, and we think it should be quite a good review. Priapism consists of Bones, my drummer, who's father was a semi-pro jazz/church drummer. Bones has been playing probably the longest out of all of us and tends toward a tribal old Primus drum thing. He is amazing behind the kit, and knows his shit. My bass player, Quickshot Dave, hasn't been playing quite as long, but he can definately hold his own. His biggest influence is Primus, yet his style isn't anywhere near that. He used to prefer to follow the guitar riffs rather than holding up the bottom end, but he has recently jumped on to some wicked tapping that perfectly matches the kick drum, it's definately a good direction. Then there's me, the Maestro. I play guitar which I've been at for somewhere around 6 years. My influences are not so easily pinpointed. I learned guitar from my dad who raised me on surf guitar and classic rock tunes. When I set out to find my own style, I found a tendency to lean toward classical acoustic stuff. Then I went hard core classic rock, followed by a Rage Against the Machine period. Right now, I'm into hard metal type stuff such as White Zombie and Pantera. I also play bass and love playing Primus stuff. So, the four of us bring different influences together to create what we consider a new sound. It's hard and heavy, but still melodic with a bit of funk mixed in for good measure. So, someday soon you'll hear us on the radio or see us on stage. I'll be the one in the liesure suit dressed like a
