You turn towards one of the many books laying in front of you .... The name "~Cassiopeia Shard~" is written on it in golden letters that
seem to glow faintly...or not ? You are not sure and decide to open the book after a few seconds of hesitation. As soon as you open it and
try to read the first few words on the page, you suddenly feel very dizzy.....The room seems to vanish in front of your eyes and everything
turns black..... Full of panic, you cling to the book - and the next second you`re standing in a different place !!!
Warily surveying your new surroundings, you notice that it must be some sort of laboratory. The room is well lit by several magical lights at
the ceiling. The air smells of chemicals and the shelves along the walls hold containers of different sizes and various (and sometimes weird)
contents. You are not sure how you got here but you know one thing : You want to get out of here FAST !!! Who knows what weirdo uses
this lab ?!? Turning around to run away, you step into some dried stuff that hangs from the ceiling. With horror, you notice the dried eyes
at the end of each string : They are the dried eyestalks of a beholder !!! You gasp and back away...... and hear a soft laugh behind you....
You turn around and look straight into a pair of sparkling emerald eyes that shine with laughter. The eyes belong to a slender female
Moonelf who stands only a few feet away from you and watches you with amusement. She is wearing an old tunic and washed out
breeches and looks quite ruffled .Running her fingers through her short silver curls, she shakes her head. "Now how did you come here ? It
must have been this blasted book again. I will have to do something about that...." She turns around and walks to a door in one of the
corners. "Come with me... I don`t bite..." Chuckling, she pulls you along. Still confused, you follow her as she leads you up the stairs and
into a much large room that looks much more comfortable too. The fireplace warms the room and large windows show the breathtaking view
of a nearby lake. "Please take a seat. I will change and get you something to drink..." The woman smiles warmly at you and leaves.
When you are alone, you curiously look around. Lots of books fill the shelves on the walls and then your gaze falls onto delicately carved
cradle in one of the corners. You step closer and lean down to peek inside. A small elven baby lays in there and seems to be asleep. Soft
silvery curls build a striking contrast to the infants golden skin. Clutched in her tiny fingers she holds what looks like a foam bat. You smile
and the baby wakes up and stares at you with eyes the color of liquid gold. After a moment of hesitation, the baby casts you a dazzling
smile. Enthralled, you lean further down.... and with a delighted squeal, the infant hits you on the nose with her bat !
"Elanorra Shard !!!" You stumble backward and rub your hurting nose, looking at the child`s mother who suddenly appeared next to the
cradle. Dressed in a silvery velvet evening gown, an air of nobility seems to surround her now. The lady frowns at her daughter and smiles
at you. "I`m sorry... Does it hurt a lot ? She usually doesn`t do this... I`m really sorry." Leading you to a comfy chair, she then snaps her
fingers and some tea and coffee appear on a table. "What would you like to drink ?" She serves you your drink and then takes a seat on the
couch, smiling at you. "I`m being impolite again... I haven`t introduced myself yet... I`m Cassiopeia Shard, Lady of DragonsRest Keep. It`s
nice to have a visitor... I hope we didn`t frighten you too much..." Laughing softly, she winks at you while sipping her tea. "This is quite a
chaotic household but I`m doing my very best to keep it in order." The Moonelf takes off a shoe and throws it at the Cath Shee that peeked
inside from the balcony and now flees in terror. "Just ignore the animals..."
"Now that you are here, what would you like to know about me ? I`m warning you, my tale is long, I hope you have enough time to listen to
it........"
