Though they appear to be crudely made, these old Hemingray-produced "bullets" provided many years of dependable service on telegraph lines beginning in the 1870's.

Probably part of the original telegraph line constructed along the railroad, this #2 bullet sat atop its pole from the early 1880's until it was rescued by a kindly collector in the 1970's from Bolivar county near the town of Benoit.
