PARKER POSEY plays Jennifer Jolie, a movie star
who portrays Gale Weathers
(Courteney Cox Arquette)
in "Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro," and who is also
in a relationship with Gale's old flame, Dewey
Riley (David Arquette).
Posey was named "Queen of Indies" by Time Magazine, a
reference to her many roles in independent films. She
has appeared in over twenty-five films in the last
six years, including "The House of Yes," with Tori
Spelling and Freddie Prinze, Jr. for director
John Waters for which she received a Special Jury
Prize in 1997 at the Sundance Film Festival;
"Clockwatchers," costarring Toni Collette and Lisa
Kudrow, "Waiting for Guffman," directed by Christopher
Guest, "The Daytrippers," directed by Greg Mottola,
"Party Girl," directed by Daisy Von Sherler Mayer,
"Sleep With Me," directed by Rory Kelly, "Dazed and
Confused" and "SubUrbia," both directed by Richard
Linklater, Gregg Araki's "The Doom Generation,"
starring Rose McGowan and Johnathon Schaech,
"Kicking and Screaming" and "Basquiat."
She was also featured in three films for Hal Hartley,
"Amateur," "Flirt" and "Henry Fool." She played
Tom Hanks' girlfriend in the studio film "You've Got
Mail," for director Nora Ephron.
Most recently, she also starred in "The Misadventures
of Margaret," "Dinner at Fred's" and "The Venice
Project."
Posey appeared on television on the series "As the
World Turns," and the mini-series "Tales From the
City." She will make her Broadway debut with
Matthew Broderick in Elaine May's "Taller Than A
Dwarf."
Posey was born on November 8, 1968 in Baltimore,
Maryland.
