Results from the 2000 Liberty April Tournament

The Liberty April Tournament was held on 8 April 2000 at Liberty High School in Colorado Springs. It was a 4SS G/29 event with both a USCF quick rated section and a nonrated section. Larry Wutt organized the tournament on behalf of the Liberty High School Chess Club and Southern Colorado Chess. The directors were Ken Schwartz and Roy Heath.

In the 16 player quick rated section, Buck Buchanan and Victor Smith won $23 each, tying for 1st and 2nd places at 3.5 points. Brendan Kullback scored 3.0 points to capture the $10 U1300/Unr prize.

Sean Cabrera took home the $20 first prize in the 8 player nonrated section with a score of 3.5. The $12 second prize went to Seth Allen, who tallied 3.0 points.
