RESULTS FROM THE 2000 LIBERTY SEPTEMBER TOURNAMENT | |
| The Liberty September Tournament
was held on 23 September 2000 at Liberty High School in
Colorado Springs. This six round G/20 event featured four
USCF quick rated sections and one nonrated section. The quick rated sections were "double quads", i.e., double round robins contested within four-player groups, players of similar strength being grouped together. (See the crosstables below.) A "double Swiss" format was utilized in the nonrated section, which consisted of six chessplayers. Each played both White and Black against three different opponents chosen by Swiss System rules. Larry Wutt organized the Liberty September Tournament on behalf of Southern Colorado Chess. The directors were Ken Schwartz and Roy Heath. The following players won prizes.
