Residents of the area are deeply concerned about the sale of land to large forestry corporations that intend to use silviculture(tree plantations) on the acquired land surrounding their own properties.
Tree plantations are not a harmless planting and harvesting of trees, indeed the use of many potent chemicals indicates the harm done to wildlife and the lives of residents in the neighbouring areas.
Residents of Crabtree and Lucaston do not consider themselves a radical group-just concerned parents and neighbours whose lives will be changed forever if tree plantations go ahead.
