In an unbelievable turn of events, one of metal's greatest guitarists has been killed. Dimebag Darrell formerly of Pantera was an amazing musician and human being. His death was a shock to the music world and I among all people am infuriated by the incident. How is it possible that a "fan" is allowed into the venue with a gun? They frisk EVERYONE before they get in and argue about us bringing in cameras and water bottles. Yet somehow a WEAPON gets past them and how bad was security that this lunatic was able to get on stage, speak into the mic, pull out the gun and start firing on Dime? To me this is a personal blow becuase of the recent occurrence I faced with security at a concert. It amazes me how bad and how clueless security guards are. Now concerts will be ruined for EVERYONE and my career as a photographer will have to be put on hold.
Dime was one of a kind and his memory will live on. I vow that he will not have died in vain and I will make things right in his honor. This sort of carelessness is unexcusable and there is no way he deserved this fate.
