On Sept. 8 2004, Hoobastank performed at the Fashion Rocks show at Radio City and made a bold statement. In what may very well be Hoobastank's last television performance, the band left a strong message to the world.
Nothing seemed to go their way that night and by the time they finally came on, half the crowd was gone. Other than myself, there were NO TRUE Hooba fans in attendance and the guys put up with the lack luster crowd.
The lighting was so bad that even from 10 feet away I couldn't get quality pictures of them. It's like they were "Playing in the dark, looking for the exit"
The expression on Dan's face tells the story. He hated ever second he was up on that stage and when it was finally over he threw his guitar down and ran off stage
Many questions are waiting to be answered by a band who won't divulge the meaning of their name. Like why are they letting the label push them around and do they wanna be an MTV staple? But the answer may be for the greater good and their longevity as a hard rock act. Until their label and their bandwagon fans realize who they really are and what they are all about, they will continue their trend of botching TV performances.
