Jamaica is 4,44i square miles or
10,991 square Kilometers. The island is divided into
3 counties and 14 parishes. It is 146 miles long(235km)
with widths varying between 22 and 51 miles(35-82km). It
is the third largest of the Caribean islands and the
largest of the English-speaking Caribbean. It is a very
Mountainous country. Almost half the island is above
1000 feet(304.8m). Blue Mountain Peak, the highest point,
is 7,402 feet(2,256m).
The annual average temperature is 27ºC.
The hottest months are in the summer. The winter months,
December to March are appreciably cooler. For every 1000´
in altitude the temperature drops 3.5ºC so the Blue
Mountain Peak has an average annual temperature of 15ºC.
Kingston
Kingston is the largest English speaking city
in the Caribbean. It is vibrant and colourful. It is noted as
the heartbeat of Jamaica.
From the Kingston Harbour, the majestic Blue
Mountains rises over the city hosting a large number of
hillside homes. This is a city of high schools, universities,
museums, thearters, night clubs and art galleries. Kingston
is also the birth place of the infectious Reggae sound that
has swept the world.
The Blue Mountains are sewn with old fashioned
inns and lush tropical gardens where the bracing altitude
creates an enternal spring. There are also the world renown
Blue Mountain Coffee plantations.
Or, you can visit the nearby Spanish Town, which dates
back to the days of Columbus and was the island's capital until
1872. Also, just an half hours drive outside of Kingston on the
Palisadoes peninsular, sits the historic 17th centry pirate lair
of Port Royal with the Marine Museum, the Museum of Historical
Archaeology, the Giddy House,(which is tilted on a 45º angle)
and Fort Charles, a former colonial stronghold.

Montego Bay
This city is a complete resort all one its
own and is truly one of the great vacation spots of the Caribbean.
This legendary vacation spot boasts some of the best port facilities
in the Caribbean. Its harbour has been visited by Spanish galleon,
British men-of-war and great merchant clippers. The city's coast is
lined with white sand beaches, grand hotels, luxurious and all-inclusive
resorts, as well as small cussy hotels, and villas and apartments.
Renowned for its beauty, Montego Bay is the place where history and
legend come together to offer the most intriguing attractions. Here
you can visit the Rose Hall Great House and hear the tale of the
White Witch , Annie Palmer and tour old plaantation houses like
Greenwood and Belfield and enjoy the history. You can go river rafting
down Great River or Martha Brea enjoying a slice of serentiy. Montego
Bay has a marine park, 10 square miles of marine life, vibrant with
coral reefs and reef fish. Swim at the legendary Doctors Cave Beach,
known for its healing powers. There are also a wide varity if arts
and crafts on sale at the Craft Market. A highlight not to be missed.

village populated by the descendants of slaves, come on to Montego Bay.
