Norad is a non-territorial micronation, virtual nation, fictional state, a political simulation. The list could go on forever, but you get the idea. You may want to read the nations history to understand Norad a little better. We consider ourselves to be somewhat of an anarchist micronation. You may wonder how we could think such a thing since a government does exist. First off Norad is a direct democracy, each citizen is a member of the Peoples National Congress, which holds the same power as any other legislative body would. Secondly Norad is not a capitalist micronation. The workers collectively own and control all enterprise not owned by the state.
Whats stops Norad from being an outright direct democracy/anarchist micronation is that it still has an elected President, who picks a cabinet. Norad also has a second legislative body, the Junta Assembly, which is also elected by the people and has the same powers as the citizens congress. Norad is organized like this to ensure a true democracy exists for its citizens, while also making sure that so called "mob rule" doesn't happen.
If your new to micronations, this is a great place to learn about a great hobby. If your a micronationalist pro then you will be happy to see Norad has a wealth of government jobs waiting for you. If your on the left of the political spectrum, you'll find many people who share common ideas with you. If your on the right, rest assured your debate skills won't go to waste. Norad has a lot to offer all kinds of people.
What does our flag stand for? The red & black you may recognize as a flag often used by anarcho synidcalists. It represents our nations individuall liberty and workers control. The middle of the flag with a "C" on it was basically ripped off the British Commonwealth flag cause it looks cool, and we are afterall the Commonwealth of Norad. What does our coat of arms represent? The Statue of Marx represents that we have socialism with freedom, the rat is there cause the Rat is our national animal, the mushroom cloud shows that we can endure anything and it looks cool. The helmet thing also looks cool. |
