On April 5, 2003 our home received one of the worst phone calls ever. We had lost a son, a friend, a brother. We had lost Rick. Rick had been in our families eyes and hearts for over 7 years. He was my son JJ's best friend. He stayed and hung out at our house and lived there for over 7 years. The page will be slow loading. If some of the pictures don't show ,please refresh your screen.
I am sorry for cancelling the 2003 reunion which was to be in Las Vegas. But maintaining after this was almost impossible. We did have one in Branson later that same year. Those who made awful phone calls and said very bad things about me and my family to other C Co men should be ashamed.
Let your conduct be without covetousness: be content with such things as you have. For he himself has said "I will never leave you nor forsake you". So we may boldly say, "The Lord is my Helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"----Hebrews chapter 13 versus 5 & 6
I can talk about Rick now, and have made this page in his loving memory. Below are pictures of a wonderful son that will always be loved and cherished in our hearts. Rick was born on April 11th and died a few days before his birthday.
From L-R:JJ Epperson, Zoa Epperson, and Rick Harrison in 1996.
Rick and his carp he caught. He was always so proud when he caught fish with JJ and Charlie. This picture was taken in 1997 at our home.
Rick and his plott hound named Zeke. Rick worked really hard for me in my kennels to buy this coon hound. Here he is after a night of coon hunting with JJ and Joyce. 1997.
L-R: Rick and JJ with their Plott Hounds. These two boys were so happy to catch this coon after hunting all night. 2001.I will never forget the first time I took both these boys out coon hunting. That night Charlie was sick and I took them out, I had them afraid of an ol' hoot owl, told them it was going to get them if they didn't turn their lights off. They were at that time afraid of the dark. Ol'West Virginia humor that rubbed off on me from Charlie.
Rick and his Plott Hound Zeke at a Plott Hound sectional in Millstadt, Illinois. He entered Zeke in the Roll Cage event. 1998.
Zeke Rick's Plott hound in the roll cage event at the Illinois Plott Sectional. Rick is in the red clothing. 1998.
Rick in the red clothing and JJ Epperson in the purple and red holding on to Amos and Zeke at the Illinois Plott sectinal 1998.
Dog show in Palmyra, Missouri. Rick is in the white T shirt with his plott hound Zeke, but he got cocky right before he went out to show his hound and said "NO one could beat him". I gave his sister Ashley my favorite plott hound "Amos's Vision" and she whooped the pants right off of him and won the show. You can imagine what the rest of the day was like.1999.
This tribute is my love and heart to my son Rick--Joyce Epperson aka Charlie's Angel.
