Hi! Thanks for visiting my page! This is my first attempt at a webpage so please bear with me. Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Erika and I am a Senior at the University of Massachusetts. I am majoring in Sport Management and currently I am putting all my efforts towards landing an internship. Ideally, I would like to either work in Sport Law or Sport Marketing. UMASS does have one of the top three Sport Management programs in the country. So hopefully it will land me a job after graduation. As this is my last semester on campus, I'm going to miss this place and the friends that I've made.
I was born and raised in Danbury, Connecticut. I've made a lot of friends here as well as many, many good memories. I've come to appreciate Danbury after really experiencing what it's like to be in the sticks while at UMass. I have come to find that the bar scene there is rather lame though (as they all seem to keep closing), but it's better than nothing. It's less than 60 miles outside of New York City, so it's a short trip to head to the city and have a good time. So the unfortunate events of September 11th did hit close to home. My thoughts go out to all those who were affected by the incidents.
If it hasn't been obvious yet, I LOVE sports! My heart does belong to the New York Mets though. I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. It's encouraging to see them finally making some moves, although Robin Ventura will be greatly missed. Hopefully this year they can give the Yankees a run for their money. I also am a NY Jets fan, so as you can guess, I like making myself miserable. I do like hockey and watch both, the NY Rangers and Islanders.
I love watching movies and listening to music. My favorite movie is a toss up between Austin Powers and Goodfellas, both great movies. Thanks to the help of Ilana and her mom, I've even grown to appreciate most of those "teeny-bopper" flicks. I listen to a lot of different music from R & B all the way to Oldies, but my favorite would have to be Classic Rock. I LOVE Bruce Springsteen! The guy is amazing in concert and a must see! Plus all his songs are just incredible and meaning, making them worthwhile to listen to.
Of course, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and just having a good time. Love going to the city, those midnight bowling games, playing pool, bar hopping and just chillin'. I also enjoy cooking and crafting with Ilana, who I've made many pillows with. One of my biggest accomplishments was turning an Absolut bottle into a lamp.
