And then there was the
lawyer: His short and dark hair was slicked back with gel. Strong scented cologne which gave off rich smell. Outfitted in suits as black as can be. Shinny black shoes that who ever could see. In his one hand, a briefcase was his fad. His posture so firm, and inside so bad. A man who is smart, yet of greed and lie. Which million people believed to buy. Mysterious eyes wandered and stared. No one would talk, unless one had been dared. This had been the appearance that was said. The lawyer always wanted it to be lead.

THE LAWYER’S TALE

It was a rather dark, and late evening when Chad was working diligently as the ringing of the phone had caught him off guard. A flash of lightening and a roar of thunder had struck as he picked up the phone. "Hello darling," was the sound of his wife’s comforting voice. Before Chad had the chance to say a word, his wife started saying, "Maybe you should come home. It’s getting rather late and you’ve been working too hard on yourself lately." Chad agreed as they both said their good-byes. He sighed as he put down the receiver and started shutting down the computer where his work was saved on. He finally realized how the office building was basically deserted knowing that only his business partner and the janitor where the only ones left as he took a quick glance at his watch. Standing with his hands on his hips, Chad looked around his office making sure it was clean, and that everything was shut down properly. After analyzing the office, he had picked up his briefcase as he started off out the door. As his one hand had hit the light switch… BAM!!!… a gun shot was fired straight into Chad’s back. Last thing he knew, a cry of pain was released as the blood had started to gush down the innocent man’s body while the murderer escaped. Not until the next day, the police had found the bloody and dead body and flesh of Chad Harris. THREE DAYS LATER:

The eerie feeling of the courtroom had brought fear straight to the murderer’s eyes. Tension seemed to rise as the clicking sounds of the briefcases had opened and closed to take out the papers in need. Silence grew upon as the judge had walked in and all stood with the out most respect. The judge’s face was somber as he said allowed… "John Matthew’s please come to the stand." His face was lit with a glow of innocence as his hand touched the bible, but yet no one could tell expect for one man. The district attorney began with his harsh opening statement…"In our case, we will show you how this man, yes a deceiving, twice incriminated and once apart of a gang, was caught red handed for a murder he did commit!"

Objections were made left to right out by John’s attorney as many chances he had, but nothing had seemed to change the minds of the session. He had pointed out the evidence that had captured the court rooms attention. A gun with smudgy fingerprints had been found at the murder scene, that the attorney had pulled out of the plastic bag. Though no one seemed to believe that those fingerprints had belonged to another crazy murderer. Everyone continued to glare at the convicted man with evil eyes, but there sat one so quiet and somber seeming as if he was hiding something. It was loud and clear that everyone had assumed he was guilty of charge for the murder of Chad Harris just because he was the janitor that had been left cleaning up the mess of the night which made one family’s heart shred apart. Finally, as the court continued, everyone had weakened up the side of John Matthew’s and his lawyer until it came to the fact that the jury had to decide upon the final call. The jury had gathered together and met to take the vote upon the case. All the answers around had said the man was guilty of charge expect the last one who truly believed John Matthew’s was as innocent as can be. It was midnight, and their argument still carried on deciding whether he was guilty or innocent. An hour latter, the jury had been dying out of tiredness, but yet, that one man finally convinced the rest that John Matthews, the janitor was completely innocent. By then, the jury had realized that they had caught the wrong murderer as they re-acted out the evidence they were given, and they tracked down the murderer by the DNA finger prints that were resulted from the gun which was used in a corrupt manner. By the observations they found out that the true murderer was actually Chad’s business partner named James Lane.

The court meet again and the jury had started out by saying..."John Matthew’s is proven innocent, and it was rather shameful convicting him to such a crime upon murder. Thought he true murderer lies here in the court room. He goes by the name.... James Lane!" A few seconds later, the crowd had shrieked with shock as their bodies faced him fully. The next thing they knew, James had tried to escaped the small court room, but didn’t manage at all. Policemen grabbed him as they tied him up with metal handcuffs and locked him up behind bars where he belonged. The court case was completed, as the man of innocence was free once again. By Priti
