Things to do on the Spitfire

Well, Here it is September and i have yet to finish all the things I wanted to complete by the end of August. So...all those things in the "To be done by end of August" list that don't have DONE...still has to be done.
How soon you ask? SOON!

Here is the tentative list of all the things I got done/wanted to get done this summer (not necessarily in this order):

To be done by end of August 2002

• Install all new gaskets DONE
• Install all new head studs DONE
• Re-Install lifters and new Push Rods DONE
• Install fuel pump DONE
• Attach distributor DONE
• Buy and install new spark plugs DONE
• Attach water pump and fan DONE
• Obtain and attatch Generator DONE
• Dismantel and rebuild twin carbs DONE
• Clean up transmission and make necessary adjustments DONE
• Attach Flywheel/Starter/Clutch/Transmission DONE
• Attach the whole sha-bang to the frame DONE
• Buy and attach Exhaust System DONE (well, headers anyway)
• Hook up necessary electronics and give it a whirl DONE!! And it TURNS OVER!!
• Now the Water pump siezed and i have to wait to get a new one. But once that is in we are in Business!
• Got a new Water pump and got the car to RUN AND DRIVE!

Then depending on how much of all that really gets done,

and how much money I have left in the bank, work on the following:

• Prep Body tub and bonnet for painting
• Weld new floor pans in
• Sit back and have a cold one...or two..or a case
• Paint it ALL!
• Buy and install interior
• Recover and install seats
• re-attach Roll-Bar (maybe)
• Re-attatch all mouldings (Chiefly Brit. var. of molding:-) and bumpers

And towards the end...when i have more time...and more money:

• Attatch and clean Top
• Re-furbish dash wood and shifter knob
• Strip and polish head cover
• Polish Dashpot Covers
• Sandblast and repaint front shocks
• Port and Mill the head for a little oomph!!
