- Development/History -
The Vixen VH-1g Hardsuit was first produced in 3020 R.E., approximately 10 years before the Rim-Wars began. Designed as a general-purpose ground unit it quickly found it's way into the Republic's Tactical Armored Division(TAD), excelling at urban combat. The VH-1g's onboard Masking systems allow it to approach targets and utillize it's potent close-quarters weaponry. However cover was invariably required due to the units limitation; it could only effectively mask it's thermal signiture(unless utillizing it's onboard blasters) and it's radar signiture. Even with such limits in an urban enviroment Vixen's became to be a highly feared opponent.
Scheduled to become a general issue armor however the VH-1g never saw such widespread service. With the on-set of the Rim-Wars the VH-1g quickly entered service issued to TAD squads and the elite Order of the Cross troops, but never saw mass service.
Having already been paid, Horizon Labs continued steady production up into 0020 A.R. when the small Corp fell due to an end in Republic funding. It's warehouses where quickly raided and the black-market soon found their own uses for the Vixen. Production of the Vixen does still continue though through 3rd party companies still producing Vixen-clones and replacement parts.

For those unfamiliar with Requiem;

• A Hardsuit is a armored suit that not only protects but enables it's wearer to survive in adverse conditions via onboard life support. They can also be equiped with a variety of onboard weapons and other gear allowing them to become highly versitile and adaptable to various terrains.

• The Vixen VH-1g carries the following weapons onboard-
  A pair of Assault Blasters; high caliber, rapid fire, semi-automatic cannons.
  A single Knuckle Charger; A device capable of creating an intense build-up of charged energy that it releases on impact. Therby allowing any unit so equiped to active their knuckle charger and then strike an opponent with their reinforced fist and cause devestating damage on impact. It is said that at times electrical or electronics based opponents suffer from electromagnetic damage when struck by such a weapon but these results aren't consistant.
  A pair of Tactical Lasers; These low yield laser are capable of very little damage but prove highly usefull for a variety of utillity applications as well as functioning as a back-up weapon due to their low energy consumption.
  The monowire(3-pack) is a deadly close quarters weapon. It is a set of 3 retractable mono-filiment wires that are capable of easily rending the flesh of un-armored foes.
  Imp VI mines are highly versitle demolitions equipment. Each mine can be set to detonate on a variety of input such as reaching a set temp, a target reaching a certain energy output, a set time, etc. Imp VI mines are also know for their abillity to magnetically cling to a target, allowing them to be sneak up and cling to a target unseen and then wait to strike- like an Imp.

• A mini-com is the next-generation computer. They tend to be palm-sized or smaller and capable of voice input, making them ideal control interfaces for a variety of applications.

• The Vixen Vh-1g is also equiped with a variety of onboard gear to aid it's wearer in their tasks;
  The basic bio-filter allows the unit to utillize local air through filtering and recycleing onboard air extending deployment times.
  The Micro gen is a staple of modern technologies, the micro gen is a tiny generator that is a little smaller than the human fist. Each generato produces on average 1c or "cell" of energy and once depleted must spend a short time to recharge itself. These small power-sources allow such complex technologies to be so mobile.
  A Mask system is simply a system that attempts to mask or hide the equiped unit in some way, in the case of the vixe it's masks allow it to hide it's heat signature and radar emmissions so that it's harder to see in an urban enviroment where debris and cover tends to abound.
  The Reliant system is nothing short of miraculous- It is a short term deffensive device that can generate a shield of force capable of absorbing the impact of a low altitude fall or direct projectile strikes. However the Reliant system utself can ussually only handle a single instance of such force and some high end systems only hold out for 2 hits and then burn out completely makeing them standard issue on several hardsuits.
  A HUD or Heads-up-display is common to many vehicles but the Vixen itself utilizes a coordinator setup allowing the HUD to disply marks for targets, ranges, and a visual reffernce point for adjusted aim.
  An ITSS or internal thrust stabilizer system is a collection of short burst thrusters enabling the vixen to adjust it's movements in variable gravity enviroments and compensate for physical combat manuvers.

• The Vixen is able to be used for 3 days on it's own power and oxygen, or for a total of 6 days if it's filters can be used with external oxygen. A hearty 12 hours of emergency oxygen and power are held in reserve to allow the vixen to operate long enough to get help or find shelter in bad situations.

  The VH-1g's armor rateing of 1MD (the equivalent of 100 SD) is such that it could withstand a single direct hit from light artillery or several from small arms fire.
