Heavenly Maiden: A Ceres Shrine
Welcome
Hello everyone, and welcome to the shrine to the almighty Tennyo, Ceres. Ceres is a main character in my new favorite series entitled "Ayashi no Ceres", and anyone who knows me from the ZSF (Zarbon Shrine Forum) knows I'm nuts about the powerful goddess known as Ceres.
About Ayashi no Ceres
Ayashi no Ceres is the story of Aya Mikage and her twin brother Aki, driven apart by the forces of fate. on their sixteenth birthday, Aya and Aki are called to the family home to be given a special present. what they thought was a birthday party, however, was really a test--one which Aya failed. she was found to possess the reincarnated spirit of an ageless tennyo, one bent on the recovery of her hagoromo and the destruction of the Mikage family. Aya quickly found herself separated from her beloved brother, and hunted by her own family.

About Ceres
Ceres is the heavenly tennyo in the story. One day, she came down from the heavens to bathe in the ocean. That's when she meets Mikagi, a fisherman. After awhile Mikagi teaches Ceres that she is a person, and that she can love; soon after she marries him.
One day after getting attacked by some thugs from another village Mikagi asks Ceres to give him some of her power. Complications arise, and cause him to go insane with power and greed. Mikagi is not the same as before, and attacks other villiges, mercilessly kills people, and steals Ceres' Hagoromo.
Eventually, Ceres tries to escape Mikagi with her 3 children, but is caught in the act, and is left with no option but to kill the husband she once loved so well.
Reincarnated in her female descendents when they turn 16, she has now vowed revenge on the Mikage clan.
The Tennyo Legend
Long ago there was a fisherman
One day that young man passed by a nearby seashore and saw several beautiful Tennyo bathing. In a pine tree next to him were beautiful robes he had never seen before. The man realized they were the Tennyo's and stealthily took one and returned home.
The Tennyo who's gossamer robe was stolen could not return to Heaven. The Tennyo, having seen the man, suspiciously asked "Do you know where my gossamer robe is? If you have it, please give it back." The Tennyo who couldn't return cried and cried and became the man's wife.
Soon after she gave birth to a child.
Many years later---------
The Tennyo heard a song her child was singing. It told the whereabouts of the gossamer robe that the man had hidden.
The Tennyo took back the gossamer robe and return to her beloved Heaven.
Leaving behind her husband.
Leaving behind her children.

Why Ceres?
Why? Well I'm not really sure, I've just really liked her since I first started reading the manga. It was probably because I think she has a cool personality, an interesting background, story, and I think she looks cool. ^_^
