For the fifth week in a row, Backstreet Boys' Jive album "Millennium" is No. 1 on The Billboard 200, logging sales of 338,000 units, according to SoundScan. Ricky Martin's self-titled C2/Columbia opus, at No. 2, also enjoys a solid week, selling 314,000 units. Sarah McLachlan's "Mirrorball" (Arista), this week's top debut, is at No. 3 (221,000), while the "Wild Wild West" soundtrack (Overbrook/Interscope) bows at No. 4 (215,000).
Look for Limp Bizkit's new album to break Backstreet Boys' stranglehold next week. Preliminary retail rumblings suggest that that the set could have first week sales in the 700,000-800,000 unit range.
Meanwhile, over on The Billboard Hot 100, Jennifer Lopez retains a lock on the top slot with her song "If You Had My Love" (WORK/ERG). Ricky Martin and Pearl Jam's tracks switch spots, with the former's "Livin' La Vida Loca" (C2/Columbia) coming in at No. 2 and the latter's "Last Kiss" (Epic) earning No. 3.
