Chapter 13: The End of the Beginning
Reanna and Kevin had fallen asleep on the bed in the kitchen, Kevin had been
there the
entire night mostly keeping a vigil over her fragile body. He finally fell
asleep close to
dawn. The guys had all filtered into the kitchen quietly and watched the
two sleep. Dana
was on AJ’s lap watching him read the newspaper. Reanna slowly opened her
eyes and
finally, she let a deep breath of relief out that had been waiting to
exhaled. She looked
over and saw the smiling faces of the guys, Brian started to sing, “Good
morning to you,
we’re all in our places with bright shining faces...” Reanna smiled and
stretched her
arms and got to her feet. She went over to everyone and gave them a huge
hug. Nick
looked at her and puzzled, “What was that for?” Reanna lokked at all the
guys who were
staring at her with the same puzzlement. She noticed how heartfelt
everyone’s eyes
looked, they seemed so loving and she was ashamed that she hadn’t noticed it
before.
“You guys have so great to me and you have put up with me when I was almost
unbearable, you guys are such a blessing, and I can’t believe I’ve come to
this conclusion
just now. I’ve wasted so many months trying to shut all of you out and now
I regret
doing it.” Reanna’s eyes filled with tears and choked out, “Please forgive
me.” Brian
went over to her and hugged her tight as he comforted, “Reanna sweetie, we
never were
mad at you, we’re sorry that we never noticed this problem before.” Reanna
smiled at
him and lokked over at AJ. AJ gave his famous heart warming smile and said,
“We’re
gonna help you through this and we can always start a relationship now, so
it’s all good.”
Nick came bounding back over and said, “Are we even now?” Reanna smiled and
nodded, “Yeah, Nickers, we are.” They hugged and stopped when they heard
Kevin call
out, “What don’t I get a hug?” A devilish smile came across Brian and
Nick’s face, they
shouted in union, “Dog Pile!!!!” Before Kevin could escape everyone piled
on top of him
and he started to scream, “GET OFF! HELP! I CAN’T BREATH!” AJ laughed and
shouted back, “SAY UNCLE!!” “UNCLE!!” Everyone piled off and laughed as
Kevin
rubbed his back. He smiled and said to Reanna, “Today we’re going to go and
get you
help. Everything will be better.” Reanna was kind of uneasy when she said,
“Can’t I just
go cold turkey?” Kevin shook his head, “No you need to get better help than
that. Don’t
worry, I’ll be right there with you.” He reahed out and held Reanna’s hand
quieting all
her fears, she now knew that Kevin wasn’t going to let her feel alone again.
She knew
that the beginning was now over and the rest of her life could start.
