Origin of the word CUYAPO - from the Pangasinan word KIAPO or QUIAPO,
a water plant. Cuyapo was created as a Municipality on October 19, 1859.
First Gobernadorcille - Don Juan Pangalilingas
First Catholic church - constructed by the Dominican Friars in 1859 - 1907.
Founder and First Aglipayan Priest in Cuyapo - Father Cirilo Sumangil for 40 years.
Historical event in Cuyapo - Place where Apolinario Mabini, the Sublime Paralytic, the Brains of the Revolution, a National Hero was captured by the Americans.
Populations in the 1980’s - 60,000
