JULY 13TH
Now it's official: Prince Gustav of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and his fiancee Elvire Paste de Rochefort are seperated. Elvire told the press that the engagement was annuled. Gustav confirmed this information one day later.

Red Cross Ball in Monaco: the whole princely family was present. Princess Stephanie is back again!

Madame, Comtesse Isabelle de Paris, celebrated her 90th birthday with her big family. Among the guests: Infanta Pilar of Spain, former Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg with his wife Josephine Charlotte.

Mette-Marit Tjessem Hoiby celebrated her 28th birthday with the Norwegian Royal family. Princess Märtha Louise's boyfriend Ari Behn was also invited.
AUGUST 22ND
Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway and his fiancee Mette-Marit gave a press conference. Mette-Marit talked about her past and said that she is sorry for all the mistakes she made.

Beginning of the Norwegian wedding festivities in Oslo.
AUGUST 25TH
Wedding of Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway and Mette-Marit Tjessem Hoiby in Oslo. The religious ceremony started at 5 p.m. After the wedding the new Crown Princess of Norway presented herself with her husband and her illegitimate son Marius (!) on the balcony of the royal palace.
I admire her strength and courage! Also of her husband. And I am moved about the couple loving each other so much that they go this difficult way together. Furthermore I am pleased about the support and understanding of the royal family! Respect and all the best for the future!
By the way: while watching this great event on television, my tears came earlier than the bride's, but I wasn't watched by millions of people all over the world!

AUGUST 26TH
Crown Prince Haakon Magnus and his wife went on a secret honeymoon. The have been seen in Düsseldorf (Germany) and in New York City.
AUGUST 27TH
It was officially confirmed by the Spanish Royal Palace that Crown Prince Felipe of Spain and the Norwegian model Eva Sannum are friends. But there were no plans for an engagement! The both were seen together in Oslo at the Norwegian wedding.
SEPTEMBER 2ND
Princess Mathilde of Belgium is not expecting twins! Her father Patrick d'Udekem d'Acoz denied this rumour which was developed by a newspaper the day before.
SEPTEMBER 4TH
Freifrau Alexandra von Berlichingen married former German Bundespräsident Roman Herzog secretly in Austria. Only close family members were present. Both are widowed. Alexandra is the mother of Princess Diana of Fürstenberg.

Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway and his wife Mette-Marit returned from their honeymoon. They spent 2 weeks in the USA. They have been to New York and Long Island. Mette-Marit's son Marius was with them. At the time of the attacks they have been in Long Island.

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway celebrated her 30th birthday with a big party in Bergen on Friday and on Saturday. Among the guests: Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark, Prince Laurent of Belgium, Prince Nicolaos of Greece, Countess Alexandra von Pfeil and Klein-Ellguth, Astrid and Sophie Ullens de Schooten and Märtha Louise's boyfriend Ari Ben.

OCTOBER 1ST
According to German teletext Princess Filippa of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn died in a car accident near Bristol/England last sunday. The Princess was only 21 years old and just married. Filippa has been in England for business. She was working as a fashion photographer.

It was officially announced by the royal palace that King Mohammed VI. of Morocco will marry Salma Bennani next year.
OCTOBER 13TH
Princess Ines of Bourbon-Sicily (*1971; MTD) and Nobile Michele Carreli Palombi married in Toledo/Spain. Among the guests: nearly the whole Spanish royal family, the Duke and Duchess of Braganza and many members of the royal families of Orleans and Sicily.
OCTOBER 25TH
Good and bad Princess news on one day:
- Princess Soraya Esfandiari Bakhtiari died in Paris. She was born in 1932 and has been the second wife of former Shah Reza Pahlavi of Iran. The couple married in 1951 and was divorced in 1958 because of childlessness. Soraya never married again.
- The Dukes of Brabant had their first child: Princess ELISABETH Therese Marie Helene of Belgium was born in Brussels at 9:58 pm. Little Elisabeth is second in line of succession to the Belgium throne and shall become Queen of Belgium one day! She was named after her great-great-grandmother Queen Elisabeth of Belgium, born as Duchess in Bavaria (1876-1965). The godparents of the little heiress shall be Countess Helene d'Udekem d'Acoz and Archduke Amedeo of Austria-Este, Prince of Belgium.

According to German teletext (RTL) Princess Stephanie of Monaco is pregnant again. She will have her fourth child with her present boyfriend Franco Knie. Franco's brother Louis confirmed the rumours of the last days.
NOVEMBER 6TH
- Princess Stephanie of Monaco is not pregnant. The Princely Palace officially denied this rumour!
- Funeral of Princess Soraya in Paris. Among the guests: Princess Ashraf of Iran, Prince Gholam Reza Pahlevi, Duke and Duchess of France, Prince Victor Emanuel of Italy and his wife Marina, Prince Michel of Orleans, Princess Ira of Fürstenberg.
NOVEMBER 12TH
Today was officially announced by the Dutch Royal Palace that Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands is expecting her first child at the beginning of June 2001.
NOVEMBER 15TH
Today was officially announced by the Spanish Royal Palace that Infanta Cristina is expecting her 3rd child in May 2002.

Crown Princess Masako of Japan gave birth to her first child. It's a girl. The name of the little Princess will be announced in one week's time.
DECEMBER 6TH
Countess Sophie of Wessex lost her first baby. She was airlifted to hospital for an emergency operation after the discovery of an ectopic pregnancy.
DECEMBER 7TH
The little Japanese Princess was named Aiko (that means: a person who loves others). She also got the royal title Toshi-no-miya (that means: one who respects others).
DECEMBER 8TH
Crown Princess Masako and her daughter Aiko left hospital. The first photos of the little Princess were taken.
DECEMBER 9TH
Baptism of Princess Elisabeth of Belgium. It was a private ceremony at the Royal Castle of Ciergnon, 110 kilometres southeast of Brussels.
