WILD HOG HUNTING REGULATIONS FOR TEXAS

THESE ARE THE REGULATIONS REGARDING HUNTING FERAL HOGS
ON PRIVATE LAND IN TEXAS

From the Texas Parks And Wildlife Handbook.

Non Protected, Non Game Animals Includes WILD FERAL HOGS. among others.
No closed season, daily bag or possession limit for Non Game or Non Protected animals.
These animals may be hunted any time by any means or method on PRIVATE PROPERTY

Wild Hogs are not included in "Canned Hunts"

It is against the law to hunt on privately owned land without permission from the owner.

HARRASSMENT of hunters or trappers is punishable by fine of 200.00 to 2,000.00 and or 180 days in jail. (leave peoples traps alone)

"Non Game Animals" - No firearms restrictions. Furthermore there are no restrictions on bows or crossbows for "Non Game Animals.
RESTRICTIONS DO APPLY for protected and game animals.


Restricted and Legal Methods

Artificial Light - Non Game, Non Protected animals may be hunted at night on PRIVATE PROPERTY.

QUOTE - beginning of sentence "If hunting at night, please make a courtesy call to your local Game Warden." END QUOTE, end sentence.

Animals and Game Birds NOT CLASSIFIED AS MIGRATORY MAY be hunted from a motor vehicle, power boat, sail boat, or from any other floating device within the boundaries of privately owned property or waters.
Baiting for Non Game animals is lawful on Private Property. Trapping may be used for Non Game Animals (e.g. feral hogs - among others)


HUNTING LICENSES

Resident Hunting License - 19.00

Non Resident General Hunting (type 105)- For Game animals - 250.00

Non Resident 5 Day Special Hunting (type 157) For Non Game Animals such as Wild Hogs - 35.00
