Gradual Changes:
It was different in the beginning when we first met.
No stress or hurt, no anger or sorrow.
We spoke and were happy.
We didn't and were fine.
No feelings or worries, no cares or concerns.
We traded hugs and smiles, pleasures and jokes.
We giggled and flirted, teased and laughed.
But gradually, it changed.
Care and concern begot seriousness and stress.
Giggling and flirting, teasing and fun became anger and pain, tension and sorrow.
We yelled and insulted, spited and ignored
But gradually, it changed.
Rough seas grew calm and stormy skies grew clear.
Until calm and clear were all that there was.
No pleasure or pain, no anger or fun.
Just smooth and steady, peaceful and quiet.
And maybe...
...gradually...
...it will change.
