MAY 26 2003 - BACK IN BLACK

-- So, this website hasn't been updated since April. How lame is that? After months of asking, telling, and threatening Cole to update the site.. here I am doing it my damn self. There's so much more to say than what I can fit in here. Basically it's this.. We've got 8 awesome songs that we all love. For the past 3 weeks we've been recording a 4 song demo. This demo is going to be sick. By the way, thanks to George Forste for the recording. We've got so much planned and so much in the works. We've got some good upcoming shows, we've got t-shirt designs, we're coming out with the demo.. things are finally looking up for this band and you all need to stick around and see it. I'll update more of the site a.s.a.p. (unlike Cole). G-Unit, are you ready?
until the end-

APRIL 1 2003 - APRIL FUCKIN' FOOLS

-- So we have some good stuff coming up ahead for us. This weekend is the Ringworm show at the void, with us, Dead End Path and Icepick- so you should go check it out. We'll be playing our new material, so if you haven't heard us in a while you're in for a surprise.
Some great news for us- We have a weekend tour planned for May 2nd with the bands Verse (ex what feeds the fire) and Love is Red. If you haven't heard either of these bands yet, you're missing out. I'll be putting more up on this later, so check back soon,
until then--

MARCH 17 2003 - THRASH AND BURN

--This weekend went pretty well for us, unlike most of the times we've gone to Indianapolis to play a show. The Thrash and Burn fest was being held at the Festivilla, and we ended up being one of the few bands that didn't cancel. Alot of bands still played, but all the big names (My Luck, Nine Shocks Terror, etc.) weren't able to show for one reason or another.
Those who were there saw the best show The Farewell has ever played, while also seeing the first show featuring The Farewell's latest addition- our good friend Ron Wells, who plays the guitar alongside Nick. We're really excited to have Ron in the band- the second guitar makes our sound much more full, which is perfect for the songs we have been writing pately.
On another note, we're heading into the studio in a few weeks to record four of our newest songs which we'll be selling on a CD along with our fall demo songs- so be on the lookout for that.
until later--

MARCH 5 2003 --Well Quite possible the worst show ever.

It all started when we booked a show in Indianapolis with The First Step on March 4th. The show was scheduled to start at 7 sharp; because of minor setbacks we didn’t leave the Nati until about 6:30. So we get to Indianapolis at around 8 and realize that mapquest.com isn’t the most reliable resource for directions. So we have two foreigners (Cole from Canada and Greg from Jamaica) navigating the trip, and we find ourselves lost. First stop was at a Big Foot gas station to get directions. The guy sent us in the general direction but told us a completely wrong exit. So we stopped at a Shell to get our second set of directions. When we got back onto the highway Greg decided to keep it to himself that we needed to get off at a certain exit, so we had to back track a little. So FINALLY we make it to the venue around 9:00. I went to take a serious piss and when I came back I was informed that the guy who booked the show only had the venue until 9:30 and The First Step hadn’t begun to play. So we couldn’t play the show. We watched the first step play. Those guys are super nice and a great band. After the show we realized that it was early and decided to go out to eat to cheer us up. We all ate and Greg made obscene comments about licking bloody cooters when the waiter when he came around. Cole was so generous to pick up the tab considering I was broke as usual and the Greg had a small amount of money, Cole went up to pay with his credit card but it was declined. We all had to search for all the money that we had to pay for the bill. Jeremy and his Wife Caitlin generously put in twenty dollars, which gave us enough. Kind of bummed out we all left the restaurant eager to get home and go to sleep. As Caitlin pulls onto the highway the van begins to rock back and forth pretty badly, so we pull off to a BP. Cole gets out to put gas in the van but as he sees the tire he says, “DAMN” in realization that we have a flat tire. We all had our reactions including “ohhhh shhhhiiitttt”, “what the fuck?” and “hellllll naaaahhh”. Unsure whether he had AAA anymore Cole called his parents. Luckily he still has it and he called them. When he got off the phone with AAA he informed us that we have to find a way to waste 2 hours. So we ended up sitting in a BP connect for 2.5 hours drinking sodas, reading AUTOSHOPPER magazines, and making everything that happened a big joke. So we got on the road at about 2:30 or 3 and got me home in just enough time to take a shower and go to school. Overall it wasn’t the best situation ever but all of the guys made it a great time joking around and keeping it fun even when all of this was going on. -Nick

FEBRUARY 26 2003 - NEW WEBSITE IS UP

--Well it took me a while, but I finally understand a bunch of this website bullshit. So here it is, a new layout for The Farewell website. I'll be updating this site more often than the last, so the shows page won't be limited to shows that we had months ago. As for the band, we've been writing alot of new material which will be released along with our fall '02 demo on the same CD. Jeremy got married, Greg got arrested, I applied for citizenship, and Nick left for South America with Green Peace. Thats it for now.
