976-EVIL 2: The Astral Factor
Spike returns in this film to a new town that also has people who dial 976-EVIL for their evil "horrorscopes." I heard a lot of bad stuff about this sequel, but I was somewhat pleasently surpried. I had a decent body count, creative death scenes, cool effects (for the most part at least) and decent characters. All in all, 3.5 out of 5.
Characters:
- Robin: College girl who use to work for Mr. Grubeck and is now being persued by him.
- Mr. Grubeck: Principal or something along those lines. Sells his soul to the devil over the phone and can now walk through walls and stuff.
- Spike: The dude from the first one who falls for Robin and once again gets stalked by the 976-Evil hotline. Dies in an explosion.
- Paula: Robin's friend who had a grunge thing going on. She ends up in a cross between "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Night of the Living Dead." Stabbed with a spade by a zombie child.
- Laurie: Hot chic killed early on. Wears a wet tank top. Nice. Impaled on a giant spike thing.
- Turrell: Drunk janitor who is a witness to a murder and explodes when hit by a semi.
- Lawlor: Hot lawyer chic who gets ran off the road.
- Body Count: 8
- Weapons Used: A giant spike, floating guns, frozzen food, and oven, books, a spade, a gun, explosives, and a semi.
- Breast Shots: 1
- Moments where characters are mysteriously unable to run from certain death: 2
- Ominous thunderstorms: 0
- Explosions: 2
Random Thoughts and Things Learned
- Short white t-shirts should not be worn in the shower. Wait... what am I saying?!
- Janitors are always alcoholics.
- Floating guns are easy to trick.
- Charging a ghost on a motorcycle with explosives in your hand is not the best way to handle the situation.
