Dreamcatcher
Four childhood friends were given special powers when they were kids. They have the power to know certain things and speak to each other without their mouths. Now as adults, they find themselves trapped in the woods with invadeing aliens. I really dug the setting and the acting was pretty decent too, but I guess I didn't really care for how the story unfolded. It almost seemed to drift at times and took too long to get to the point. And I guess I had a hard time accepting Morgan Freeman as the evil villian too. The special effects were really good thought, and it is worth a watch especially if you like Stephen King movies. 2.5 out of 5
Characters
- Henry: Shrink who has the power to see what people are thinking due to a gift he was given as a child. I'd call that a little unprofessional.
- Jonesy: Can communicate with his friends without words. Gets possessed by an alien and forced to help him, but lives.
- Beaver: Kind of the oddball of the group. He chews toothpicks, but has a really nice singing voice. Face chomped on by a space weasel.
- Pete: Car salesman who uses his psychic ability to try to pick up women. It doesn't work very often. Told the alien to bite his sack. So he did, along with the rest of him.
- Col. Abraham Curtis: (Morgan Freeman) A commander who is determined to kill everyone who might possibly be infected with the alien virus. Dies in a helicopter explosion.
- Owen: Ab's right hand man who is to succede him one day. Discovers Ab is going nuts and tries to get him shut down. Shot.
- Duddits: Childhood friend of the boy's. Thought to be mentaly retarded, but ends up being an alien who kills the bad alien.
- Mr Grey: The alien with a British accent who takes over Jonesy's body. A real asshole of an alien.
