Fright Night
By far, one of the 80's best vampire flicks. My favorite thing about this movie wa the characters. They were very well developed and enhanced the story. The Evil Ed character was over-the-top and Peter Vincent had a lot of depth as a washed-up actor who once portrayed a vampire killer. I also dug Jerry and the way he laughed at Charlie's attampts to stop him useing methods learned from cheesy old horror movies. Check this one out! 4 out of 5.
Characters:
- Charlie: Snoop guy who spies on his neighbor and realizes that he is a vampire.
- Jerry Dandrige: The vampire next door. Charming, if you look past the whole 'undead creature of the night' thing. He also eats a lot of fruit. Burned to death by sunlight.
- Amy: Charlies girl who gets pissed off at him a lot.
- Peter Vincent: Plays a vampire hunter on TV, and is a broke phoney in real life.
- Evil Ed: Charlie's weird frind who gives him some ideas on how to fight vampires. As if he wasn't a big enough freak, he gets turned intoa vampire with really huge teeth. Gets a steak to the heart.
- Billy: Jerry's 'caretaker' who watches over things while he's asleep. Melts into a pile of flesh.
- Judy: Charlie's mother who, of course, is clueless about the neighbor's true identity.
The Totals:
- Body Count: 7
- Weapons Used: A pencil, crosses, a table leg, and sunlight.
- Breast Shots: 1
- Moments where characters are mysteriously unable to run from certain death: 2
- Ominous thunderstorms: 0
- Explosions: 1
