Night of the Living Dead
A classic. This is the first George Romero movie I ever saw, and it hooked me. This movie freaked me out, but I could see how others may not find it scary. I think it may have been more frightning back in the day when horror movies were not as diverse. Now at days, we have modern movies like Resident Evil that have much scarier special effects and make-up. I think the black and white film helped make it creepier to me. The story was a small group of people hold up in an old farm house and try to fight off invadeing zombies. I liked the characters too... with the exception of Barbra. She just annoyed me. 4 out of 5.
Characters
- Ben: The take-charge type. He's a very resourceful guy that's smarter than all of the others combined. Shot in the head by trigger-happy rednecks.
- Barnra: Tromatized early on, and is about as much help as a rasin. Grabbed by zombies and assumed chomped.
- Harry: Has a huge ego and doesn't like taking orders. Shot and zombiefied, and shot again.
- Helen: Harry's wife. She doesn't like her husband much. Stabbed by her zombie child.
- Tom and Judy: A young couple that also take refuge in the old house. Blown up.
- Karen: Harry and Helen's daughter. becomes a zombie and kills her mother. She is sooooo going to be grounded!
- Johnny: Barbra's brother. Head smashed against a tombstone early on.
