Sleepy Hollow
The great thing about Tim Burton films is the way he sets the mood. The dark colors and shadows used gives a really creepy mood. That was present in this movie. Another huge perk to this film was the decapitations. I figured they would be cheesy and look really bad, but they were pretty graphic and detailed. Very cool. Check this one out. 4 out of 5.
Characters:
- Ichabod Crane: Constable sent to Sleepy Hollow to catch a killer.
- Katrina: Witch of sorts and falls for Ichabod.
- Lady Mary: Controls the Headless Horseman and generally an evil woman.
- Baltus: Katrina's father and rich farmer. Decapitated.
- Brom: Strapping young fellow who tries to kill the horseman and gets sliced in half for his efforts.
- Reverend Steenwyck: Has an affair with Lady Mary and gets shot.
- Samuel Philipse: Magistrate for the town who gets decapitated.
- Dr. Thomas Lancaster: Town's doctor who gets his skull bashed in with a heavy cross.
- Notary James Hardenbrook: Old man with a really creepy eye. Hangs himself.
- Young Masbath: After his father gets decapitated, he becomes Ichabod's assistant.
- The Hessian Horseman: Mercinary brought back from hell to kill.
