Alan Idol's Top 5 of 2002Well, here it is, the cream of the crop for the year 2002. I have to admit that I was surprised by several of the movies on my list.
|
#1: Signs
The suspence gradually built up during the whole movie, never showing much of the aliens until the end. Great directing, acting, and score. There were at least three scenes I can remember when I jumped in my seat. I saw this one twice in the theature, which is very rare fo me. |
#2: Frailty
A damn cool movie with a great story, and a wonderful ending. The ending is the best part becasue it left it up to the viewer to decide what had happened. Also some awsome twists along the way. |
#3: Resident Evil
Not as action-packed as I would like for it to have been, but the games never had continous action either. I loved the effects and the make-up on the creatures. The best zombies since Dawn of the Dead. |
#4: Blade II
The action-horror movie of the year. Had some great fight scenes and special effects. A lot of people didn't like the story, but I thought it was cool. I also loved the character development. |
#5: Brotherhood of the Wolf
The movie kinda started slow, but picked up towards the middle. I loved the action sequences and the effects on The Wolf itself. Very frightening. It's French, but I don't think we should hold that against them. |
Worse Horror Movie of 2002 |
Jason X
It really pains me to say it, but Jason X was a flameing piece of crap. I couldn't tell if it was a comedy or horror. There was not one point in the movie where I was scared, or cared what happened to the characters. |
Straight To Video Award of 2002 |
The Pool
It's a slasher movie about a killer who stalks a group of teens at a party with a huge pool. Pretty cool death scenes and over all creativity gets this one my vote for STV movie of the year. |
