Second in the LilJon series, This one is for up to 3 People.
This is a bigger brother of LilJon8. It is quite a bit beefier and heavier. Running about 100 lbs, it is still manageable by one man. Construction is of 1/4" ply, has 1x2 ribs in addition to the sealed tank seats, and doesn't use a chine log. Seams were taped on the outside and filleted inside. Resin was polyester and all glue and fillets were of PL Premium. Bear in mind, these boats are experiments in both techniques and materials.
The boat is quite stable with almost 200lbs on one side of it. It ran about 4-5 mph with a 46 lb thrust electric motor. It cruised around a couple hundred acre lake quite well. It goes faster with some weight in the front to trim it.
One of the daughters wanted to show off a bit. The inside of the boat is now painted to match. I was too impatient to get it on the water earlier. Painted the seats white so they wouldn't get so hot in the sun.
