trip to Tou-Leu to see the factory
Started a new office job beginning of November with an aim to boost my income and even possibly my career prospects. now, Sam, my boss is an intense kinda guy with 1984 views that we should "love" the company as if it were our own....hmmm.
Anyway, I was festering in bed one saturday morning and the phone rang with Sam demanding that I got my ass up and got down to Tou-Leu to meet him. an hour or so later I was checking out the buses on Cheng-te road with my partner in crime, Robin.....

We were given the grand tour...I'll have to say the main man has invested millions in this little project...and of course I couldn't resist a little tampering with the equpment

Now Sam likes a drop of the amber nectar and on the saturday night he had us out till 3am having been kicked out of the restaurant, the karaoke and ending up drinking in the park. Here we are the following lunchtime. I have been making my excuses back in Taipei to leg it at 12:30!!
The picure to the right is me in front of the Yes-in designers traditional old house.
So the trip ended with us having to stand all the way back to Taipei for three and a half hours as all the buses were full and there were no seats left on the train.

An interesting postscript was that one thursday in the middle of December, Sam called me over and told me he no longer required my services....to say I was suprised was an understatement. We had just day's previously been discussing European expansion. So, I left but 2 weeks later was called up again to see if I wanted to open an office in London. Sam was drunk so I took it with a pinch of salt. He said he'd call me in the new year to discuss the details. The call never came.
But that's not all. I did get another phone call from Sam, this time regarding Robin..."I haven't seen him for days....I'm worried about him, he's not answering his phone..." Ah yes, Robin decided he had had enough and knowing Sam's persistant personality wasn't taking any calls!!
