Thirteen

Generation X is what they say.
A teenager is what I became today.
Thirteen for a year, 365 days,
Things have changed, in so many ways.
Adolescence is fading, thrill so intense.
Pulled toward adulthood, in ways so immense.
Leaving the foregrounds, saying goodbye.
hormones racing, adrenaline high.
Responsibility rising, imagination put to rest.
Every simple task, now becoming a test.
Competition awakens, a whole new way.
Savor the moment, and seize the day.
Setting your goals, choosing a dream.
It all starts to happen, when you turn thirteen.
Possibilities roaring, you’re now in the game.
Ready for action, your pride to claim.
Turning thirteen, a new life to begin.
Girls to women, and boys to men.
The past is the past, forget the days spent.
Just try your best, and give 100%.
