(Less Than Perfect) Fairytale

It’s like I’m Cinderella,
And you’re the handsome prince.
Magic seems to happen,
Every time we kiss.
The entire world seems perfect,
As if it revolves around our tale.
A ball gown created flawlessly.
Godmother grants a wish that will not fail.

I can’t pinpoint what it is,
But something’s just not right.
Our perfect fairytale is ended,
When the tower clock strikes midnight.
Now it’s back to being lonely,
Leaving a glass slipper as a trail.
Reality keeps me waiting,
In my less than perfect fairytale.

I’m sleeping like a beauty.
You look deep into my eyes.
One kiss from you will wake me,
Despite others’ worthless tries.
I awaken in your arms,
From the poison I consumed.
I recognize your charming face,
When I search around the room.

I can’t pinpoint what it is,
But something’s just not right.
Our perfect fairytale is ended,
When the tower clock strikes midnight.
Now it’s back to being lonely,
Leaving a glass slipper as a trail.
Reality keeps me waiting,
In my less than perfect fairytale.

I’m helpless like Snow White.
You nobly take me in.
I never thought that you would be,
More than seven times a man.
You help me when I need it.
You’ve become my worthy knight.
You never think to leave my side,
Until you know that all is right.

I can’t pinpoint what it is,
But something’s just not right.
Our perfect fairytale is ended,
When the tower clock strikes midnight.
Now it’s back to being lonely,
Leaving a glass slipper as a trail.
Reality keeps me waiting,
In my less than perfect fairytale.

I feel just like a princess,
When your soft lips touch mine.
You were a prince turned to a frog,
By a witch way back in time.
You helped me recognize myself.
To see what’s true inside.
I turned you back into a prince.
We became each others’ guide.

I can’t pinpoint what it is,
But something’s just not right.
Our perfect fairytale is ended,
When the tower clock strikes midnight.
Now it’s back to being lonely,
Leaving a glass slipper as a trail.
Reality keeps me waiting,
In my less than perfect fairytale.

Once upon a time,
You were leaving me to say,
“All fairytales are not alike,
They don’t end a certain way.”
I never will forget,
One story meant to fail.
How happily ever after,
Was ruined in our fairytale.

I can’t pinpoint what it is,
But something’s just not right.
Our perfect fairytale is ended,
When the tower clock strikes midnight.
Now it’s back to being lonely,
Leaving a glass slipper as a trail.
Reality keeps me waiting,
In my less than perfect fairytale.
