You could see the WCW Chris Jericho completely shining throughout this brilliant promo. *Had a very funny feud with "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock until Shamrock got injured and had to leave. Chris even got his first-ever Jerichoholic in the WWF at this time, long-time ring announcer Howard Finkel. He also gained Curtis Hughes as a bodyguard for a short period of time. *Had a long feud with Chyna, then WWF Intercontinental Champion. Jericho faked his way through a sexist attitude about a woman's role in the Federation and challenged the Ninth Wonder multiple times. After awhile, his character went from being a fun-loving heel to a more evil one, when he kidnapped Chyna, tied her to a chair and broke her thumb with a hammer. This angle soon turned him into one of the most hated heels in the company. *The feud with Chyna reached a crescendo at Royal Rumble 2000 when Y2J defeated both her and Hardcore Holly for the IC strap. Oddly, the very next night on RAW, Jericho and Chyna were suddenly allies. For the next three months, the Ninth Wonder of the World was Chris' valet, occasional partner, friend and confidante. Jerry "The King" Lawler hinted at something more to the Jericho-Chyna relationship than mere mutual respect, but that's another story! :) *Had a feud against Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, whom he dubbed "Kirk Angel." Soon after, Chris Benoit was thrown in the mix and the three battled it out for both the IC and European titles, which eventually led to a triple threat match at WrestleMania 2000 - Jericho ended up with the European belt. *In a very surprising turn of events, Chyna turned on Y2J on RAW the night after WrestleMania in favor of Eddy Guerrero and his "Latino Heat." During the European title match between Jericho and Guerrero, the referee had been knocked out, and Chyna went in to count 3 for Y2J. However, as she raised his arm in "victory," she suddenly attacked him with a kick and a DDT, which enabled Eddy to score the victory, not only winning the belt but Chyna as well. *Had a great feud against Triple H and his wife Stephanie. Y2J even defeated the Game in an impromptu WWF Title match on RAW and became the new champ. His reign was cut short - it lasted a mere 20 minutes - because Triple H was incensed over the fact that he felt referee Earl Hebner was "unfair" and gave Jericho the victory as a way to screw him over. Hebner forced Jericho to turn the belt back over to Helmsley only after the Game and his family members agreed to never lay a hand on him again. *Had an equally great feud with Kurt Angle. What made this even greater was the fact that Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley was thrown into the mix, as she had become Angle's little pal. Aside from Jericho dubbing her a "dirty, disgusting, filthy, skanky, brutal, bottom-feeding trashbag ho," one of the best incidents with Stephanie occurred during King of the Ring 2000. During a qualifying match against the Olympic Hero, Mrs. Helmsley, then WWF Women's Champion, ran down to the ring to assist her friend in winning the match. However, there was a little mishap, as Stephanie accidentally hit Kurt, instead of Y2J, with her belt. Jericho in turn, grabbed Steph, foiling her attempt to slap him across the face, and kissed her hard! The next night on RAW, the Ayotollah of Rock 'N Rolla compared Stephanie to "roadkill," and claimed that the reason he'd kissed her was because she'd bothered him so much. *After violating Stephanie the way he had at King of the Ring, Triple H was even more determined to teach Y2J a lesson - hence, a renewed feud between the two commenced. It ended with an attack by Triple H, Road Dogg and X-Pac and an awesome Iron Man match at Fully Loaded 2000. *Had a great, ongoing feud with Chris Benoit to prove who the better man was. It kept going back-and-forth; sometimes Benoit came out victorious, sometimes Jericho did. *Inadvertently started a feud with Kane when he accidentally spilled hot coffee on the Big Red Machine. Kane was then, for awhile, on a mission to "disfigure" Jericho. *Feuded against new WWF Commissioner William Regal - this actually began before Regal was even appointed Commissioner. The feud got to be a little too much for Regal when, one night on RAW, Jericho entered his empty office, took his forever-present teapot into another room and gave the Commissioner a spot of "P" ;-) *Became allies and teammates with Chris Benoit once Benoit's feud with Kurt Angle started. On RAW, while William Regal and Angle were double-teaming Y2J after a match, Benoit showed up in Jericho's favor. A few days later, Jericho reciprocated when Benoit was being double-teamed by the same two men. *Feuded with the Rock for a few months after a brief stint of occasionally teaming up with him in various matchups. This was a clash of egos which led to the eventual showdown for the WCW Title, in which Y2J eventually gained, thanks to the inadvertent help of Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. *Feuded again with Triple H, whom was going through a breakup and eventual divorce from his wife, Stephanie. Steph eventually allied herself with Jericho, and the two became "business partners." In WCW: *Feuded with Syxx (X-Pac) after refusing to join the nWo. Eventually, "Lionheart" Chris Jericho defeated Syxx for the WCW Cruiserweight Title in under a minute after he executed a spinning heelkick. *Turned (silly) heel after a string of losses after which he started throwing temper tantrums - and would later claim he would "never, eeeeeeevvvvver do that again!" *Started a feud with Juventud Guerrera and challenged the luchador to a match at SuperBrawl 98 in which if he won, Juvi would have to relinquish his mask. The Lionheart won the match and humilated Guerrera afterward, claiming he was "hideously ugly." *Had a feud with "Iceman" Dean Malenko. After some time, Malenko was out with an injury, and Jericho began calling his foe "the late Dean Malenko" and dubbed him "Stinko Malenko." He even went so far as to give Dean's father, Boris, a nickname - "Bore Us" Malenko - which led his own dad, Ted Irvine, to come to Nitro and scold his son in front of millions, leaving Jericho utterly humiliated. *The feud with Malenko came to a screeching halt as the "Iceman" had his ultimate revenge for the past few months when he was appointed special referee at the Cruiserweight Title match between Jericho and Juventud Guerrera at Road Wild 98. Jericho got in Malenko's face one too many times, which led Dean to floor him with a right hand, helping Juvi win the match and belt. *Became WCW Television Champion by defeating Stevie Ray and suddenly became more arrogant than ever! *Got his own "Jericho Personal Security," which consisted of Ralphus (who ending up with Jericho the longest), the Jerichoholic Ninja and some other guy, who wore a shirt that said, "Viva Los Jericho." *Got on Goldberg's bad side by setting up a "match" against a fake, mini-me of the champ at Fall Brawl 98. To add salt to the wound, Jericho started to call Goldberg "Greenberg" and claimed 4 victories over him! Eventually, on the Lionheart's 28th birthday, Goldberg caught up with him and taught him a lesson he wouldn't forget. *Feuded against Konnan, who defeated him for the Television belt. *Feuded against Perry Saturn for the last couple of months he was in WCW. This feud led to a challenge from Jericho which stated that if Saturn lost their match at Souled Out 99, he would have to wear a dress for the rest of his career while in WCW. Jericho won, and Saturn was forced to wear the dress. Eventually, Saturn defeated Chris in their dog collar match at the Uncensored 99 pay-per-view. From then on, Jericho was on a long losing streak.
