This figure has three parts. In part A The L input goes through a 510 k ohm res to the L output. The R input goes through another 510 k ohm to the R output. A 500 k ohm linear pot is connected between the L and R outputs. The wiper of this pot is grounded. Above is the legend minimum attenuation 6.1 dB, center attenuation 9.6 dB, maximum attenuation infinity. Part B employs a special pot. Half of the length of the pot is a rectangle indicating no resistance. The other half is the familiar zigzag line indicating resistance. The counter clockwise end of the left control has resistance while the other end has no resistance. The counter clockwise end of the right pot has no resistance. The left input connects to the clockwise end of the left balance pot. The counter clockwise end is grounded. The wiper of the left pot goes to the left output. The right input connects to the counter clockwise end of the right balance pot. The clockwise end is grounded. The wiper of the right pot goes to the right output. In part C the L input goes through a 120 k ohm res to the CW end of the left balance pot, 250 k ohm. The CCW end goes through another 120 k ohm to ground. The left output is taken off the wiper. The right input goes through a 120 k ohm res to the CCW end of the right balance pot, 250 k ohm. The CW end goes through a 120 k ohm res to ground. The wiper goes to the right output. A legend says attenuation, max = 2.4 dB, mid 6.1, max 12.2. End verbal description.
