Star Trek
Ever since I had the privilege of viewing the
premiere network broadcast of Star Trek: The
Motion Picture back in September of 1983 (I was 6
at the time), I have been a devoted fan of every Gene Roddenberry
endeavor (Yes, even Earth: Final Conflict). After seeing
this movie, I began watching the classic episodes which were showing
on the new Fox station and I tried to construct my own U.S.S. Enterprise
out of pizza boxes. I attribute my interest in science and logic
to Star Trek (and to Mom -- she's also a fan). I liked putting together
and painting the models of the various starships
because I was attracted to the technology much more
than the characters themselves. But, life being what it is, I have a couple
half finished models and several I don't even own. I also collected
the Next Generation Playmates figures for awhile.
Star Wars
I wasn't turned on to Star Wars until high school
about the time that Decipher released its CCG for
the movies. My friends and I would watch the
trilogy over and over. I got involved in the books and the card
game. My only regret is that, as a kid, I didn't get many of the
original toys that are worth so much today. But I'm
happy enough that I found my own Darth Maul from
the recent movie.
Babylon 5
In my opinion, this was the best-conceived
science-fiction program on television. The Shadow Wars outdid any other television
space saga I have ever seen, even Star Trek final's season of Deep Space
9. I was able to catch most of the series on TNT, but it has now moved to another
time slot or was removed from the lineup.
The X-Files
Right now, this is my favorite ongoing series.
"Experience the intrigue." Oh yeah! Gillian Anderson's a hottie. I
really enjoy their chemistry. It has been really weird following the show and
(expecially this alien conspiracy plot thread) because I jumped in at about
season 4. On the other hand, seeing previous episodes that reveal the origins
of a key element from a latter show are pretty exciting. Luckily FX! plays them
religiously so I've been able to catch up and fill in most of the gaps.. I remember
when the series first came out, I was interested but friday night high school
football got in the way. The alien plot line is starting to show signs of slowing
down, they're running out of ideas. I mean, thes show was only supposed to last
about 5 seasons, anyways. Like all the Star Trek departures, I will miss this
one just as much. Here is a desktop theme and a WinAmp skin taht I made, both
in .zip format.

Others
I've also loosely followed series such as Earth Final: Conflict,
Stargate, and SeaQuest (what god-awful series, what was I thinking?)
