The Line (titles are meaningless)

******

see the Christ unfold
Mary got the time
until age twenty-nine
everything was fine
until Christ saw
   the line
created by shortcuts
to intimacy
the paths were put down
by genetically manipulated Boys Scouts
and Christ saw
   the line
covering Mary's breast
from the rest of the world
the blanket sewn together
by some cultural creation
and it would take too much convincing
to get Mary
to push that blanket away
for she insists
   on letting
gravity have its way
so Christ put on clothing
   and left
searching for intimacy
trying another way

we dance on grass
in bare feet
as the sun keeps us warm
and the oxygen to breathe
You jump high as you can
I jump high as you can
   then you again
   then me again
then again at the same time
each an injection of reflection
seeping into souls
causing awareness
as we each jump higher and higher
   and laugh
   and smile
   and feel warm
as we jump high as we can
letting solar winds
sweep us away to another place
and in the end
we lay in the grass
and look up above
while holding hands

******

feet on coffeetable
this Crayola crayon
macaroni-and-cheese to be specific
is melted by her lighter
the hot oils drip
bubbling and mixing together
and I check
and saw some colors I didn't expect
and it made me think
and wonder
what another color would create

******

my next door neighbor
constructing a fence
alienating his yard
from my yard
a monstrosity of a thing
you couldn't see in
without standing on the tip of your toes
he painted both sides
whether I liked it or not
   and finally
I rang his doorbell
in one of the ways to ring
   and he appeared
   and we conversed
   and I complained
   and he explained
the dog shouldn't be
pent up inside the house
so we should let him out
but we love him
and don't want him to run away
and hurt himself
especially considering traffic
kills and kills and kills
so we solved the problem
of satisfying all our desires
by constructing a limitation
while opening a smaller one
sorry if it's an eyesore
sorry if it keeps you and I away
but around the back there's a door
we never lock
so don't be a stranger
   and we said goodbye
   and I understood

******

laying here
I think
how nice it is to breathe oxygen
  whenever I want oxygen
   I can breathe oxygen
and have food and drink
whenever I need
I run around dancing and smiling
and making merry noise
before the day winds down
and my bed I've found
laying at my side eyes open wide
  and I spot
cats playing with each other
getting caught up in various pieces of plastic
   spilt on the ground
which they chase, push, and follow
and I wonder
If I left any door open
  a door leading outside
  because it's common knowledge
  that cats
want to race out any door suddenly opened
I assume all's okay
and go to sleep
  and dream

******

overwhelming muscles in my head
but what's the difference
when you can't see muscles
'cause the skin coverin'
   I laid in bed
like it was a grave
a coffin
in a tomb
and I thought about
negative reinforcement
and how it applied
to suicide
   but rising and realizing
is so agonizing
when it insists on slipping
away
always away
alienating
like the eyes of everyone
when too much sun
led to one extra statement
   I never meant
   I overextent
where has it went
this 'semblence of serenity
shot up in the sky
exploded in confetti
and it rains and rains for days
   up early collecting
tiny pieces of paper
glued to wet blades of grass
millions and millions of blades
   I'm tired
of picking up pieces of paper
I think I'll lay in the grass
cold and wet as it may be
I'll lay in the grass
   and go to sleep

******

laying on the beach
glance over to you
on a white towel
eyes closed all exposed
to the toes
I reach over
to touch your stomach
but I'm bounced back by syntax
can't I just relax
panic attacks show no slack
   rolling on my stomach
run my hands through grains of sand
crumbling through fingertips
   rolling on my back
I look at you
all exposed to the toes
eyes closed

******

the worms would swallow
and the children would follow
into big weeds of destiny
they'll laugh and they'll grin
and count eight nine ten
while others lie and hide
in the ground right beside
the roots which sucked them up
   they all look the same
   they all look the same
which plant has children in it?
and slowly
the game goes on
seekers seeking long long gone
   the worms come in
never counting to ten
and they eat every
leaf, flower, root, stem
just to leave again
to the place under the walk
where the children were first brought

******

yesterday
in the plains
saw her paint
dead cells at the end of her legs
and the blades
of grass got splashed
with purples splotches everywhere
   oh I'll wait
   but I'll lay
when I estimate
painted blades fallen and faded away
disintegrate never too late
to lay in a place
   where
yellow lady slippers stay to taste
and clouds are allowed
to show how
water naturally coheres
so simply sincere
even after a million years

******

I can't wait
to procreate
for how else could we
find flowers to contemplate
don't you hate it when
people have instructions
ideas to the tiniest details
dying to drive
into fruition a new sensation
striving for stabilization
   yet
   no
   application
not the meaning
she is meme-ing
her dreaming
requires Life's demeaning
how can you wait
and state
you don't care if others
get to contemplate
   petals
determined by the predetermined
drive to survive
   stabilize
and again be alive

******

   mumble as he might
the Third Reich has a right
to see the light
because you're no special one
that off could have springed
from anywhere in the world
   given the right environment
all conform and feel warm
he wasn't born
cursed any worse
than any other
   for the geographical locations
and almost unstoppable patterns
burned a brighter burn
than any sticks
his robot could have turned
