*Note: the term "Lepidopteran" (plural: Lepidoptera ) is the scientific name for the insect group of butterflies, skippers, and moths. The plural I use is "Lepidopterans" and I even use it as an adjective (none of these forms exist) because I want to distinguish from the insects. The Lepidopterans are so called because of our wings which resemble those of the lepidoptera.
