ICON TRANSPARENCY

One of the utilities I used for years before I had Windows XP and wouldn't want to be without is called "Transparent".   This neat little tool takes away the background colour underneath the words of your icons.   A small thing but none the less makes a much more attractive desktop.

With Windows XP this is not necessary but if you are using an older system, it's great~!

When you use dark wallpaper you can change the words to white. (TransparentW)  When you use light wallpaper you can change the words to black.(TransparentB) You can also change your words to blend in with your desktop colour or wallpaper so you can't see them. (TransparentD)

Download 'Transparent' and start using it today~!.

Transparent can be downloaded right HERE or at the creaters website HERE.

The Zip file comes with the creaters information file.

It's very easy to use, you don't even have to install it.   Just download the zip file and unzip into a folder you create.   Keep the folder handy and when you want your icon text to change from black to white, just create a shortcut to TransparentB (for black) or TransparentW (for white) into your startup folder. Everytime you start your computer the icons will automatically change. (Hint: Double click on the shortcut before you close the startup folder and you will see the changes right away)

How do I create a shortcut in my startup folder?
Easy.   Just open up the transparent folder and open up the startup folder (Go to Start/Programs/Startup - Double click on the Startup title in the menu.)   Single click on the colour Transparent that you want to use so that it is highlighted.   Now right click on it and drag it to the startup folder. When you get over the startup folder let go of the right click and you will have options.   Pick "Create Shortcut Here".   That's it.   Now you can double click on the shortcut to make the text change right away if you want.   The Transparent colour you picked will now start everytime you start your computer.   To change the text colour, just repeat the steps with proper colour. (Just delete other shortcut in Startup folder)
