Since becoming a Christian more than 15 years ago, I have been
very interested in memorizing Bible verses. This has been very valuable to my
Christian life. However, as I look about, I realize that almost no one else is
interested in memorizing more than only a few verses. Further, after examination
my own scripture memory program, I can see that it has not been that successful.
I have not memorized enough verses and what I have memorized is poorly learned
and not always applied to my life.
Therefore, I have determined to figure out how I can 'fix' my own scripture
memory program by studying the topic as thoroughly as I can, and by analyzing my
own past attempts. I have dedicated my entire web site to challenge all
Christians to make memorizing scripture a significant part of their lives.

The Chronological 4 Gospels are the accounts of
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, with a few verses from Acts and 1st
Corinthians, combined in a chronological form. This enables a person to read and
study all four nearly side by side as a unit. One can read Matthew’s account
of an event, and then read the same event in the other gospels. There are
certain events that are only presented in one or two gospels. Now a student of
the Bible can read and study how and when all the events occurred in relation to

English Translations of the Bible
The Bible was not written in English -- not even "King James
English"! Most of the books of the Old Testament were originally composed in
Hebrew (with a few portions in Aramaic), while the entire New Testament was
originally written in Greek (although some books may also incorporate Aramaic
sources). Thus, what most people today read is not the original text, but other
people's translations of the Bible.
But why are there so many different English translations of the Bible? And why
can't churches or scholars agree on just one translation?

The origin of the English Bibles of today can be traced to a time when men, under the devine inspiration of God, first wrote the books fo the Bible. This word of God was transmitted from generation to generation by handwritten copies and by word-of-mouth. As men began to realize how valuable these teachings were, attempts were made to collate these teachings into a single comprehensive book.
Inclusive Language Bible Translations
For all their professed concern over translating the Bible accurately, many of the inclusive-language translation opponents have repeatedly used words and phrases for the sake of their emotional impact, without regard for their accuracy. One of the most inflammatory accusations leveled against the NIVI is that it is a "unisex" translation that "neuters" the Bible and obliterates gender differences.
What's Wrong with Gender-Neutral Bible Translations
The publicity brochure of the New Revised Standard Version sounds so sensible. At last, we are told, misleading, masculine-oriented language has been removed from the Bible. Jesus no longer says, "and I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself" (rsv), but instead, "And I...will draw all people to myself" (John 12:32, nrsv).

It is especially useful when you don't know the correct spelling of the words
you are looking for. For instance, if you want to locate every scripture that

and Bible Search will return all scriptures containing "Melc" in them.
