NOTICE: INFORMATION CONTAINED HERE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE PRIOR TO THE START OF THE
GAME. IT IS THE PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THE ACTUAL GAME'S SETTINGS.
DEITY IS MAKING A BEST EFFORT TO RELAY INTENDED GAME CONFIGURATION, AND DOES
NOT PLAN ON MAKING ANY MAJOR DEVIATIONS TO THESE PUBLISHED PARAMETERS, BUT
SOME MINOR CHANGES WILL LIKELY RESULT TO ADJUST FOR PLAYER BASE, ETC. |
Here are some additional notes for
all players: 1) The game is hosted on a dedicated box for the game. The server, DSL modem, and 10/100 switch are all on a 500VA UPS, to help ensure minimal downtime with the game. I don't have a static IP address, so I'm using one of those dynamic IP mappings, through a service at www.dyndns.org. In the (rare) event that my DSL modem has to be rebooted, the dotted quads IP address will change. If a new IP address happens, it may take several minutes to propagate to your realm. One thing to do is to try a nslookup service, such as: "http://www.kloth.net/services/nslookup.php" and enter the addr: "sheepfarm.game-host.org" and scroll down and see if it has a new IP address there. 2) Because the game is running on a Win2K system, some of the info files have had their names slightly altered. Info pages such as "Attack" have changed to "cattack" to distinguish them from their lower-cased cousins. Just try to remember to put a "c" infront of info pages for commands that start with a capital letter which also would have one with a lowercase letter. 3) I have an assistant deity, Ski, who will be joining me to help keep order in the PettingZoo. Ski is a well respected player in the empire community and is getting his first taste of deiting here, so everyone please be sure to abuse him well. 4) In the event that we have unbroken countries, I wish to announce my policy of what I plan to do about them. In the interest of keeping the game on schedule and keeping it balanced, I've decided that I would "run" those no-show countries for the first 4 updates, while looking for replacement players. If I don't find a replacement within that time, I will then neuter those start continents into something similar to the expansion islands. 5) Yes, there are expansion islands available, but they must be "earned". 6) No, food is not required. 7) Co-Rulers are welcome. 8) Yes, there are sheeps here. 9) Plague is Enabled. 10) Weekly server maintenance is scheduled for Saturdays for upto about an hour of downtime sometime between the hours of 14:00 and 18:00. Have a great game! Happy Shagging :) Doug of Bungholio |

Game Info/Setup: |
There are no pre-set win conditions for this game. You are at the mercy of
your peers to come to a reasonable agreement for what would be a fair endgame scenario. To declare victory, a "win declaration" must be made via the in-game announcements, and then active players have one update period (except during pre-planned breaks, during which time the skipped days do not count as elapsed time) to post any rejections to the win declaration. |

1) Players get choice from 3 formats of Start Continents, each with a mixture of
industrial, plains, and mountains, and each having benefits/vulnerabilities.
Start Continents have 55 total sectors. 10-12 sectors of water between
start islands. 2) Uniform resources on Start Continents. Industrial Sectors have 50 minerals, 25 oil, 0 gold, and 50 uranium. Plains have zero resources. Mountains are the only source for dust, and have 75 gold. 3) Gorenew enabled. 4) Market is enabled, but the time to sell for Market and Trade is 10 hours to reduce "Market Abuses". 5) There are expansion islands, players will have to search for them. And they are defended. Resources on expansion islands are less than what was on the start continents. They will be a bit more various in size, location, and defenses. 6) There may be some Oil at sea. 7) No food. This reduces micromanagement and removes an early fodder indicator. 8) Rolling Avail, with 300 roll-over. 9) Tech at log base 3.00, all bleed (80%). 10) Plague is enabled (to model the upcoming 2004-2005 Influenza Pandemic due to the flu vaccine shortage this year). 11) Game code is standard 4.2.18 with standard units/planes/ships lists, but units have 1/2 mob gain and 1/2 max mob from standard, and planes have max mob of 100. 12) Deity will NOT be playing. 13) Countries start with 4 sanctuaries, to get the game started quicker, but civ growth is reduced [from 30%] to 20% (so that plague and shelling/bombing civs are painful in the event that these occur). 14) All players start with 3/3/3/3 for Edu/Tech/Happy/Research levels. 15) Deity will not ask for player's "rank", as I will be treating all players equally. 16) Deity is requiring a minimum of 8 players for the game, this is so that players who think that they might want to play, but don't want to get stuck in a tiny game will have an out in the event that the minimum game roster is not met. 17) Game start date was carefully chosen to avoid confusion with daylight savings time clock adjustments. |

This is a nice safe and protective map. 45 industrial, 6 plains 4 mountains |
This map is a little more adventurous, but still fairly safe. 45 industrial 6 plains 4 mountains |
This map is risky, but you get an extra industrial sector and an extra mountain in
exchange for that risk. Also, distribution and defenses may be tricky. 46 industrial 4 plains 5 mountains (NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS) |
Deity Credentials: Bungholio has been playing actively for approx 7 years. He has a good
