The study of English and the Liberal Arts with History is effective way in knowing the world in which we live and the world we come from. Language is an outlet or tool that can be used in determining ones ideas or concepts. Language goes hand in hand with History in a sense that both come from the past, and looks to the future. Literature and History can be considered foundations that are necessary for understanding people, times and cultures. History is an incredible source of information. Not only do we get perspectives from many points of view, we get them at different times, so it is an ever changing entity that can never be fully understood but still provides us with depth enough to learn. A degree in both English and History would give an individual great insight that proves that their mind is capable of in-depth thought.
