A Fire Inside. Those three simple words already tell you very much about this band. Or well, to me at least, they say very much. I have been a fan of AFI as of late 2002, which is not very long, seeing as they have been together for 10 years. The band has been touring since the summer of 1992 and have been through a few different line-ups. They have come out with eight albums so far including A Fire Inside, All Hallows, Answer That And Stay Fashionable, Art Of Drowning, Black Sails In The Sunset, Shut Your Mouth And Open Your Eyes, Very Proud of Ya, and their latest, Sing The Sorrow, which was released March 11, 2003. They're a great band with great talent. What bothers me is that they are getting more and more of a false fanbase. And it's all because of fucking MTV. Punk is now the hip thing to be. I wanna fucking scream and cry to all of those god damned stupid idiots who caused all of this. I have had almost every AFI song downloaded on Kazaa. The most frequently uploaded one from me is "Girl's Not Grey". Isn't that so predictable? I do feel happy for the guys, they're such a great band, but they need to realize that they are getting false fans. People have told me that I should feel happy for them because they are "finally getting the recognition they deserve". This band had all the recognition they needed before Sing The Sorrow even came out. If you play shows; people are booking you like crazy, you have seven albums out (before STS) and you have an incredible fanbase, there is nothing more that you should ask for. Fuck MTV and all of its followers.
