Slightly Less Common African Cichlids

Tropheus Duboisi(scientific name).This fish is relativly non aggressive for an african cichlid so it can go with others.Males of this species grow larger than the females and are more territorial.They also like live foods but will eat other things so experiment and find out what they like.

Tilapia Buttikoferi(scientific name)often called the hornet tilapia in other circles,around here it's called the butterkoferi.This fish is a peaceful juvenile but becomes overly aggressive as an adult.It likes softer more acidic water than other cichlids. They are also tough to breed.

Cyphotilapia Frontosa(scientific name)is very peaceful for it's size.This fish is very expensive because it is a deep water fish and that makes it more expesive to harvest.It goes from a 2inch at $40 to a 8 inch specimen for $120 but it is well worth it they are awsome and the muchal hump they get are unreal.
