Here are more rare and,or expensive african cichlids.

The Calvus

Lamprologus Calvus(scientific name)has a very compressed type of body making it more adept at going into rocky crevices. It also has a big mouth for catching it's prey. The scales of this fish are like armor because it's often attacked by other fish,it's scales protect it when thing like that happen.

The Fenastratus

Haplichromis Fenestatus(scientific name).Very well colored aqdult males are what these fish are all about. The juveniles at the pet store can not do them justice so go for it they are beuatiful fish. This is not to be confused with the red empress. The red empress has a slightly redder belly.

The Moori

Tropheus Moori(scientific name)is sometimes hard to keep but if you do two things they will become easier. First, overcrowd the tank,to keep aggression down not neccessarily with all moori's but several from the tropheus family.Second, don't feed live food, they are herbivores(they eat veggies)so live foods can make them very agressive and could also make them very sick.Find them some good algae based foods.
