HEELFLIP

The heelflip is like a kickflip except that the board spins in the direction of the toe edge instead of the heel edge like a kickflip. Some say this trick is easier than the kickflip but I disagree. This one takes practice too but it is much easier to master the heelflip then it is to master the kickflip. The stance is the back foot is on the tail. The front foot is different for people but try it with it right before the front truck bolts straight across the board and have your toes hanging off the toe edge.////////// Step 1: You smack your tail for a regular ollie, and with your front foot you have to kick it off the board pushing the toe edge so the board spins. You actually don't really use your heel for this, you roll your foot of using the side of your foot. You have to bend your ankle a little so your foot is angled correctly to get the proper slide so the board spins good.///////// Step 2: Hover above the board and keep your feet out of the way! Your back foot should just come up and be directly above the tail while the board is spinning. Your front foot should be out there so it's not in the way./////////// Step 3: Now land like you would any other trick. Stop the board with your back foot when you see the grip tape come around. Then place your front foot back on. Keep your legs bent, and land, absorb the landing. Hopefully you landed a heelflip, and if you don't the first time well thats normal. It takes time. -written by Justine
